A few bits of news...

If anyone watches the U.S. network Bravo, they have a show called "Flipping Out" - about a guy who buys, renovates, and "flips" homes in Los Angeles, living in them while waiting to sell. Well, apparently Dom's bought the house that the guy was living in during the most recently filmed series, which is airing now on Bravo. More info here and here (has photos of the house interiors from the real estate listings). You can see more photos of the house at this website - go to Projects, and choose "Commonwealth".

'CQC' hits Portugal, eyes U.S.
Eyeworks cashing in on satirical news program

BUENOS AIRES -- Eyeworks Cuatro Cabezas has sold the format of "Caiga Quien Caiga" (CQC) to Portugal's top broadcaster TVI, its latest sale of the satirical news program as it prepares to pitch a specially made pilot to U.S. networks.

TVI will start airing a version in October, with Cuatro Cabezas handling production.

"CQC" is the company's widest selling format, with versions on air in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Italy and Spain.

The Buenos Aires-based outfit, which became part of Dutch indie production group Eyeworks last year, is now gearing up to sell the format to the U.S. English-language market.

This month it will begin pitching a pilot of the 90-minute program hosted by "Lost's" Dominic Monaghan, Comedy Central host Greg Giraldo and Zach Selwyn ("Dream Job"), which the trio recorded in Buenos Aires last month.

Barnell in carnival scene

This is a small item, but I hadn't heard this before. Apparently Dom's character of Barnell in X-Men appears in a "carnival scene". Not sure if that's his only one or not. Does anyone know more about this carnival scene? Source.

It was reported a couple months ago that Australian actress Adelaide Clemens had secured a role in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. It turns out that she’ll briefly appear in the carnival scene, which features Barnell (Dominic Monaghan). Her character might possibly be called “Sherrlene” although it’s not yet confirmed.

"This will be a very short entry, but I wanted to report that I had a run in with two of my favorite actors in Cusco on Thursday. Dominic Monaghan and Evangeline Lily. Never hear of them, you say? Well, Monaghan played the chipper hobbit Merry in The Lord of the Rings movies, and Lily currently stars in the television drama LOST (Monaghan is a former co-star on the show). You never know who you´ll meet on the road, I guess."

Dom interview

Carlost has posted an interview with Dom during his stay in Argentina. I have re-post it below.

Note: Since I don't speak a word in Spanish and can only read the original article via an on-line translator, most of the very rough English translation is actually done by

Argentina CQC promo?

Edit: All the pictures are updated with a bigger version. Also, the Argentina version is supposed to air on June 23th (this Monday), 2008, according to a comment on the video page.

While Dom and Evi are at Argentina for the taping for the English version of CQC, they also did interview for the Argentina version. You can watch the promo via youtube.

It looks like Dom is doing an American version of a program there called 'Caiga Quien Caiga'! and will be one of three hosts for the show. Someone with better Spanish reading skills may be able to gather more from the various blogs reporting it.
