This community is for anything and everything doll related. You can post your newest doll or base, plug your dolling website, search for dolling tips and tutorials - anything dolling related goes.
This community is NOT for clip-art! Yahoo! avatars and Meez are not handmade dolls. But SIMs and custom skins are allowed. Each doll is a handmade work of art. Don't steal!
When posting a doll, please give credit to the base maker. If you do not know who the basemaker is and want to find out, please only post the clothed doll, as posted an empty base if you are not the original creator is against the terms of many basemakers. Otherwise your entry will be deleted.
If you'd like to adopt a doll, ask permission from the creator first, and ALWAYS provide credit!
Please don't take dolls posted in this community and edit them, use them in drag and drops, icons, etc. without permission.
No direct linking. If you recieve permission to adopt a doll you like, please save it to your own server. Bandwidth thieves suck!

What is a doll? Dollz are handmade, original computer generated avatars, usually created in programs like paintshop pro and adobe photoshop, though recently 3-D dolls have become popular as well! Dollz are generally assumed to have originated mostly from The Palace, a visual chat program widely popular in the late 90s. The Palace is now privately owned and maintained via volunteers and private servers and dollz are popping up in all sorts of new incarnations. :)
How do I make dolls? Check some of the links below for tutorials. I hope to create some tutorials of my own in the near future. :)
What programs do you use to make your dolls? Basic dolls can be made in MS Paint, a free program that comes with windows. More advanced dolls require the use of programs like Adobe Photoshop, and Paintshop Pro. For animations, most dollers use Adobe Imageready or Animation Shop. You can get a 30-day trial of Paintshop Pro and Animation shop at Jasc.com.
Can I use this doll on my website/layout/userinfo/etc? This all depends on the doller who made it. Always ask the creator before you adopt a doll, and -always- give credit!
