The beautiful fugitive, Grace, arrives in the isolated township of Dogville, Colorado on the run from a team of gangsters. With some encouragement from Tom, the self-appointed town spokesman, the little community agrees to hide her and in return, Grace agrees to work for them. However, when a search sets in, the people of Dogville demand a better deal in exchange for the risk of harboring poor Grace and she learns the hard way that in this town, goodness is relative. But Grace has a secret and it is a dangerous one. Dogville may regret it ever began to bare its teeth...

What happens when visionaries come together to rejoice the art of film? Dogville comes to life. This community is dedicated to the brilliant film by director/writer Lars von Trier (Breaking the Waves, Dancer In the Dark), as well as the superb cast including such luminaries as Nicole Kidman, Lauren Bacall, Paul Bettany, James Caan, Patricia Clarkson, Philip Baker Hall, and Chloë Sevigny. Nominated for the prestigious Palme d'Or at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival, as well as critical acclaim and awards worldwide.

Lastly, everyone is welcome to [info]dogville, but we only ask you a few basic rules:
  1. Please introduce yourself to the community when you join. We want to know who you are!

  2. The majority of our members are fans of Dogville. If you wish to join and ask questions/speak negatively of the film, you are allowed to do so provided you do so in a respectable format. Otherwise, the post will be deleted.

  3. Trolls will be immediately banned, and flamers have only one chance to redeem themselves.

  4. Posts shall be written in legible format. If you can't pass it off in a writing class, don't even try to post it here.

  5. Any Dogville-related artwork, such as icons, banners, or wallpaper is more than welcome, but please put larger images behind a cut or provide a thumbnail with links instead. "Larger images" refers to any single image over 400x400 pixels, or multiple images that are over 100 KB in total size.
The more willing you are to follow these simple rules, the less often I have to whip out the moderator hat, and the more often we're all one happy group!
