Welcome to dogs_awards! This is a weekly icontest community dedicated to Miwa Shirow's manga series, Dogs. This community is maintained by its founder and mod chrnoangel.

This is a community for those who enjoy making icons and/or looking at them and voting for them. If your interested in participating, please join the community and read over the rules to participate.
Members aren't all required to submit an icon to participate. Voting is just as important, so please join even it it's only to vote.



o1. Please use only official images from the series, so NO fanart.
o2. Be polite and considerate of others.
o3. Do not advertise your icon before the winners post is posted or else it will lead to a disqualification.
o4. Don't submit multiple entries from multiple accounts.
o5. Don't steal. You must ask the creator of the icon before you take it. Give proper credit in the icon's keywords or comments.
o6. Only members may participate. You'll have to have joined the community in order to submit and/or vote.

A new theme will be posted every week on Friday @ 6PM Pacific Time, the same time as the weekly voting post. You have one week to submit icons until the next Friday @ 8PM PST.
o1.Members are allowed two submissions per theme (unless stated otherwise).
o2. Icons should be no bigger than 100x100 pixels/40kb. Must be in .gif, .jpg., or .png format.
o3. Icons must be new, preferably made just for the contests.
o4. Icons must be uploaded onto a server that allows hot-linking. (ie. Photobucket, Imageshack, Tinypic.)
o5. Do not advertise your icon before/during the contest!
o6. Submit icons like this:

Voting starts on Friday @ 8PM and lasts till 6PM PST on Sunday. Results will be posted after the voting ends.

When voting, you must vote for four separate icons. Please vote in one of these formats. The special category changes from week to week.

First Place: 14
Second Place: 16
Third Place: 21
Special Category: 32

Special Categories:

Most Creative: The icon that shows the most originality from the others.

Most Emotional: The icon that has the most emotional impact compared to the other icons. The image and/or text is very well chosen and evokes any strong feeling.

Best Adaptation: The icon that represents the theme the best through both the chosen image and text.

Best Caption: The icon that has the best text content. This means the words' actual meaning matches the icon well. This can be well-chosen lyrics, a good phrase, or even a single, effective word. Do not confuse this with Best Typography.

Best Color: The icon that stands out from the rest color-wise.

Best Typography: The icon with the best treatment of text regardless of text content.



Banner makers:

For now, that week's contest mod will be in charge of banners, but as the community grows, I will probably be looking for other bannermakers in the near future. Winners will receive a 100x250px custom-made banners!
