Me again with another link to the BBC's website. Honestly this is NOT what I do for a living.

This article is about Hamlet, and is a reveiw of the performances, focusing on David Tennant (obviously)

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/7540819.stm

Please excuse my hysterical laughter over the Burger King Crown that he's wearing in the first picture. I just love it so much.

Oh, and also there are three other links on the side bar showing reviews from critics and regular people.

Meet John Barrowman tomorrow
Just finished listening to John's interview on my local radio station and found out there is a meet-and-greet tomorrow, June 17, here in Toronto, Canada. It's at the CBC on Front St, starting at 12 noon. Details at John's site.

http://www.johnbarrowman.com/news/newsindex.html

He gave us a shoutout and specifically said to come out "even if you're a Doctor Who or Torchwood fan" (the publicity is for a reality show he's doing).

Tennant re-appears on Derren Brown
Hmm. Nobody on LJ seems to be talking about David Tennant's appearance last night on the series finale of Derren Brown's Trick or Treat.

Well, I have about 50 caps of him on that show at my journal with some spoilers, of course, if anybody wants to see them. It was quite an awesome ep!

I don't know if this has been posted or discussed here yet, but stumbling upon John Borrowman's website, I learned that he is to make an appearance at comic con on July 24 and 25. Of course this has brought me immense joy. :D There aren't any details up yet, but here's the link..
And while we are on the subject, who else going to comic con?  There's supposed to be a Doctor Who gathering, complete with a tent TARDIS, and I am bringing Jelly babies to share.  It's going to be amazing. lol

Tickets for Hamlet (August)

Some friends and I are going to travel to London this Summer and we wanted to go and see David Tennant performing in Hamlet.
Sadly, as we live in Germany, we have no way of getting a hold on some tickets. My friend is seriously going to die if she doesn't get to see David. Can anybody help us poor isolated fans? On that note, are there any kind of doctor who related things we just have to see/do that you would recommend? We're already going to Cardiff! *squee*

Thank you so much
Luce

BBC America - Top Gear with David Tennant. No, really!!!!
After completely screwing us over with the Billie Piper "Top Gear" episode, BBC America is showing the "Top Gear" with David Tennant. And is actually showing the David Tennant part! I KNOW! SCARY!!

SF Universe Blog entry

BBC America preview video -- which points out that for "Top Gear" on this channel, this episode with the Tenth Doctor is Episode 10 of Season 10. Can't believe they went there. Well, wait, yeah, I can--!

The episode will be re-broadcast on the following dates--the interview with David is during the first half hour :

Saturday, May 3, 4 pm EST
Sunday, May 4, 11 am EST
Monday, May 5, 9 pm EST
Tuesday, May 6, 12 am EST
Saturday, May 10, 5 pm EST
Sunday, May 11 12 pm EST

If you have Comcast, you should be able to eventually get the episode ON DEMAND (probably next week); to find it, select the TV Entertainment bubble on the first screen, then BBC America, then Top Gear. Press the Info button to get a description of the episodes listed.

Series Four Trailer

The Series Four trailer that's been showing at cinemas across the UK (and appearing in dodgy hand-filmed versions online) will be making it's TV debut this Saturday (22nd) at around 7 pm, not Saturday 29th as was originally reported by the BBC DW site. The news story has since been altered to reflect the right date.

Apparently the new Radio Times has the trailer scheduled in a five minute slot at 7pm between 'Toy Story' and 'I'd Do Anything' as 'Doctor Who Series Four Preview'. The trailer will also be available online at the BBC Doctor Who website.

In other TV news, The Doctor himself, Mr David Tennant, will reportedly be hosting The Friday Night Project on Channel 4 (Friday 28th March) and will be appearing with his Runaway Bride co-star Catherine Tate, on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross on April 4th.

Clearly the publicity machine for series 4 is getting up and running...

Tosh Sighting/Question
I was watching "Spiceworld" with a friend today while we were procrastinating for finals. I had seen it many times before; I was nine when it came out and was completely obsessed. I noticed that Naoko Mori, the actress who plays Tosh is in the movie as the girls pregnant friend. Here is a youtube clip. She comes in around 1:30. Such a different character than Tosh :D. This is probably old meme for lost of people, but I was amused.

The same friend and I were also discussing this question. If you could travel with any Doctor, which one would you travel with? I think for me, maybe Five. I love Nine and Ten, but think it'd be easier without the Gallifrey Angst. I also think it'd be fun to be on the TARDIS with Five, Nyssa and Tegan.

The universe is conspiring to make me watch Nine.
Over the past few days, I have been subjected to honest-to-goodness totally random appearances of Christopher Eccleston on my television.

I just finished reading Jude the Obscure and, finding that there was a recent movie version of it, I rented it. Guess who's in it?

Then a movie that I wanted to see for a while, Elizabeth, appears and I record it. And I'm watching, and CE pops up.

And then on the Independent Film Channel, a film that I'd heard good things about, Let Him Have It. I record it, I watch it. Once again he's there.

Now this is a little bit too random for an American to spot a British actor in 3 totally different movies in less than 2 days, yes?

I kept on waiting for the "Fantastic!" in all three films, but it wouldn't fit. :P

I've been meaning to post this all week, but haven't had/made the time.

While watching "CBS Sunday News" this past week, they had a segment on the theater and what's on Broadway. John Barrowman - (live) shows in the US?
Like probably a lot of people here, I've seen all the YouTube clips available of John singing in various performances.

I really, *really* need to see this man perform live. I've just moved to New York City (well, northern Jersey, but still, close), and am entertaining the vague but fervent hope that a show he's performing in might come here.

Does anyone know of anything of that nature being thought of now? Or has it happened before?

TimeGate Guest of Honor (part 1)
(Just copying the post from the TimeGate yahoogroups email list.)

Hey folks! Just in time for Dragon*Con......

We're extremely ecstatic to be able to announce that our Doctor Who Guest of Honour for next year's TimeGate is none other than Sergeant Benton himself, JOHN LEVENE!

Though Mr. Levene is best known for his role as Sergeant Benton on Doctor Who from 1969 - 1975, the good Sergeant wasn't John's first role on the show. Nor his second. John first appeared (uncredited and unrecognizable) in the series in 1967's The Moonbase in the guise of a Cyberman. His first credited appearance was as a Yeti in 1968's The Web of Fear. He made his debut as Benton (then a Corporal) later the same year in the Cybermen epic The Invasion. Levene portrayed Sgt. Benton alongside three classic Doctors: Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, and Tom Baker. In addition to Doctor Who, Levene has appeared in series like Z-Cars, UFO, Adam Adamant Lives!, and Carry on Laughing. His recent work includes the role of Reverend Bernie Shanks in CanniBallistic! (2002) , as the Communications Captain in Automatons (2006) and is currently in preproduction on Satan Hates You, reprising his role as Bernie Shanks.

And....stay tuned for an announcement on our Stargate Guest of Honor, hopefully very soon!

And don't forget to get your membership this week while it's still $25! It goes up to $35 right after Dragon*Con! http://timegatecon.org/memberships.htm

TimeGate is the Doctor Who/Stargate con that is held in Atlanta every year. This next con will be our sixth! TimeGate will be held the Memorial day weekend, May 23rd to May 26, 2008, in Atlanta, GA, USA. Please see the site for more details.

http://www.timegatecon.org

If you are at Dragoncon this weekend, come by our fan table in the Marriott Marquis on the second level, one level below the lobby and say hi, find out more about the con, buy a cool con tee-shirt, and get a membership while they are cheap!
Times the table is staffed:
Friday 1 pm-7 pm (but we will hopefully open by 10 am)
Saturday and Sunday 10 am-7 pm
Sunday 10 am-2 pm
