4x01 - The Doctor and Donna do Pantomime
Here, by virtue of lip-reading skills, and a little help from Doctor Who Confidential, is the transcription of the recognition scene from "Partners in Crime". With pictures, simply because I cannot get enough of their expressions throughout the thing.

The Doctor: Donna?!

Donna: Doctor!!

The Doctor: But . . . w--what?

Donna: Oh . . . my . . . God!

The Doctor: [gapes for a moment] How?

Donna: It's me!

The Doctor: Yes! I can see that!

Donna: Oh, this is brilliant!

The Doctor: What the hell are you doing there?

Donna: I was looking for you!

The Doctor: [points at himself incredulously] What for?

Donna: I read it. On the internet.

The Doctor: [nods slightly]

Donna: [This place]* is weird!

The Doctor: [raises his eyebrows]

Donna: Crept along . . . Heard them talking. [mimes rising up unawares and recognizing the Doctor]

The Doctor: [stares, in shock]

Donna: You!

The Doctor: [nods numbly]

Donna: 'Cause th-- . . . [turns to face a fully-alert Miss Foster and breaks off]

The Doctor: [realizing, slowly turns in her direction as well]

Miss Foster: Are we interrupting you?

[Donna and the Doctor look at each other.]

The Doctor: [jerking his head to the side] Run!

*The entire line was said on DWC, but cut for broadcast.

Thank you so much for this! I basically missed everything Donna mouthed after "I was looking for you!"

Their faces are simply amazing. :g

That was the one part that was giving me trouble as well; I must have watched it a trillion times. That's about when I gave myself a break to watch DWC, and audibly sighed in relief. "Weird" is not the easiest word to mouth distinctively.

I thought it had something to do with the Racnoss. Kind of like a spidery-mouth thing. >@_@< sort of?

Despite the fact that it would have made nonsense look sensical, it looked to me like she was doing her best Ood impression.

*snicker*

I need to find this one - good comedy, good villian... and Autons?!? (Oops, my mistake - just an incredibly waxy-looking henchie!) DEFINITELY need to see it asap!

Thanks. That was the best bit in the entire episode. I love how both of them have such expressive faces. Tate brings out Tennant's comic timing.

Well done, and thanks! I never could catch that bit about the internet. Now if you could just tell me what he said when they met up on the stairs!!

You mean just after that scene, when they embrace on the landing?

Donna: "Oh, my God! I don't believe it! You've even got the same suit. Don't you ever change?"

The Doctor: "Yeah, thanks, Donna. Not right now."

[The see the henchmen running up the stairs.]

The Doctor: "Just like old times!"

I've said it a million times already: that scene needs to be made into one or perhaps a whole set of icons. That was my favorite bit in the whole episode.

Hee! I was translating this for my mum (who couldn't lip-read to save her life) and I lost Donna at the same time the Doctor did. It was awesome.

I was translating for my family as well: My mom was surprisingly with it for most of the time (even though she gets lost so easily even when characters are actually speaking), whereas my step-dad gave up somewhere around "I can see that." Hopeless.

OHHH!! I have SO been waiting for RTD to write another scene like this for David, since it worked so beautifully in "Casanova"--!

Oh, yes, that's very true! They did it so well in Casanova; no interpretation problems at all. I was impressed with Catherine Tate in this scene because she was given this wacky paragraph to mime out, and did it reasonably clearly. When punctuated with David's fantastic expressions, it's so much win.

Part of it she mimes about creeping around and snooping at the Adipose building...
After "reading" and before "then I find you there!"
