dn_movie, this is a community for all things related to the Japanese drama/action upcoming films, Death Note. Based off the popular Shonen Jump comic series, it is being adapted to a movie to be released in June, and another in October.
Death Note is a Japanese manga series written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata. It has been serialized by Shueisha in Weekly Shonen Jump since the first 2004 issue. Light Yagami is a bright young high school student who has until recently led a boring and uneventful life. That changed very quickly when he found a strange notebook with the title "Death Note" lying on the ground one day. After realizing that the "Death Note" was a soulreaper's tool with the power to kill anyone whose name was written on its pages, Light decided to use it to "cleanse" the world from evil.
