The community's been inactive for quite a while and I'm looking for an English-speaking moderator again.
Actually, the problem is either we settle with someone in the nearest future or the community is gonna be deleted на хуй.

Классное коммьюнити! Только вот почему вы взяли английский язык как средство общения среди своих же русскоязынчных я не понимаю. Неужели большинство смотрителей англоязыные?

Hello all,

I'm glad to pronounce we have a new layout for the community!!! Go check it out [info]dmitrytursunov!
A major THANK YOU to [info]kindoftrouble, who was kind enough to make the header for this layout and who also is responsible for the colors in the layout. Many many thanks to your brilliant brain!! :]

The userinfo also has a fresh face, hopefully everyone likes it this way.

As for Dmitry: his wrist is in a cast and he will be in Chili to be a cheerleader for the team, as he said himself on his official site. Hopefully we'll get to see some of his cheerleading action. Hopefully he didn't forget to pack his pompoms!

First of all, Dmitry has injured his left wrist. Reports say it's a torn tendon. Wether or not he needs surgery is not clear yet.
He will not be playing any tournaments for a few weeks. That also means, no Davis Cup.

The first tournament he will play again, if all goes well, might be the Dubai Open which starts at February 26th.

There's also better news; Dmitry has entered the top 20 in rankings again, as since today he is ranked #20!

And the cute Dmitry-with-koala pictures can not be left out of this community! )

Anyone willing to co-moderate this community?
Not sure if I'm capable of successfully developing it alone.

Update. The mighty [info]__cosmicgirl__ is our new co-mod!

Dmitry is doing well at the Open.
He's in the third round after defeating Alexander Waske and Max Mirnyi.
Next up is Tomas Berdych. They're tied 1:1 in career meetings, after Berdych won their third-round clash at 2006 US Open in five sets and Dmitry took the championship match in India several weeks later. The winner of that encounter will have to play either Nikolay Davydenko or Fabrice Santoro (sorry Fabrice, not a single chance for you) in the round of sixteen. Actually, whoever would become Nikolay's opponent, he owns them both (3:0 versus Dmitry, 5:0 against Berdych having lost just two sets combined in 8 matches) and I'm not sure if Dmitry's recent form allows a glimpse of hope here...
BTW, did anyone happen to watch one of his two matches here? Not sure if they were broadcasted on Eurosport.

Happy New Year everyone! Let it be free of misery and disappointment.

Now getting back to business.

Not sure if you're aware, but now there's Dmitry's official site up and running:

dmitrytursunov.com

He's posting stuff there himself (essentially music - see here, there and everywhere).

Besides, there are comprehensive tour schedule and marvellous photo gallery (incl. special feature - Baby Dima!).

Now, Hopman Cup is already on the way, where Dmitry represents Russia alongside Nadia Petrova. They lost the first session to Australia 1-2 (Molik def. Petrova 62 26 62, Philippoussis def. Tursunov 64 76(0), Tursunov/Petrova def. Molik/Philippoussis 76(6) 61).

Next they play US team consisting of Mardy Fish and Ashley Harkleroad.
Good luck to them both now & further on!

According to local broadcaster "Sport TV", DMITRY MAY PLAY IN THE DECISIVE FIFTH RUBBER AGAINST ARGENTINA'S NO.2 PLAYER. It is not yet clear who that would be. Among possible candidates are Augustin Calleri, Juan Ignacio Chela, Jose Acasuso and Guillermo Canas.
On the other hand, Dmitry was seen on the stands three games before Nikolay Davydenko's loss and it's totally unclear how he can warm up for the upcoming rubber.

UPDATE. No, he won't play. Safin vs. Acasuso in the final rubber.
Rather an odd decision, to be honest.

I will be funnier again tomorrow as I am quite tired from the match and Dmitry is looking over my shoulder and making me very nervous…

(Roger Federer's blog at ATPtennis.com)

Roger must have refused to trade two Slams for a couple of clinics from Dima :)

BTW, D. is in round of 16. He'll take on Korea's Lee for a spot in QF.

The thrilling non-stop tour across the world continues for Dmitry!

He's seeded sixth at Japan Open this week. After a first round bye, he's drawn to play Yeu-Tzuoo Wang of Taiwan in the second round. They've met this year in Queen's Club on grass and Dmitry came out the winner in three sets.

Keep cool - FedEx is on the opposite side of the draw :)
Probable opponents for Dmitry on the road to the final include Tommy Robredo, Mario Ancic and Tim Henman. All familiar names, eh?
Dmitry's half of the draw can be found here.

BTW, Dmitry is on full schedule till the end of the year: Moscow, AMS Madrid, Saint Petersburg, AMS Paris. No time to rest!
