Hello all, Since our last round ended, we've affiliated with 3 4 5 6 7 new Harry Potter exchange communities: - hp_secret_santa, a multi-pairing exchange community - hp_spring_fling, a multi-pairing exchange community - lm_hgficxchange, a Lucius/Hermion exchange community (active round on-going) - luvlikerocketz, a Draco/Hermione (Valentine's) exchange community (recently started posting, you can view the gifts here) - ronpansy_fest, a Ron/Pansy exchange community (sign-ups begin May 1st) - smrw_ficafest, a Scorpius/Rose exchange community (sign-ups begin March 15th) - takingitinturns, a Harry/Ginny exchange community (sign-ups open now, here) You can view all our affiliates on our community profile page. Of those we were already affiliated with, we know that the pphpficexchange (Pansy/Harry) is planning on running another round this year. We encourage you all to join and participate in their exchanges if you have an interest in any of those pairings! So. I have had weather-related technical difficulties. Please accept my apology for the delay in tallying the results of the reviewer award, but here they are. Or, er, maybe not.
Votes for the reviewer award are very very spread out. As a result, we have multiple ties for first, second and third place. Rather than putting myself and the other mods into an awkward tie-breaking scenario, I am going to leave voting open until January 1st, 2009, 12:00am EST in the hopes that those ties can be broken. Please please spread the word to anyone who is on your friends list who you know participated. We need their votes. Thank you! | |

We know it's a busy time of year for many of us, but don't forget about F5 which is running until December 24th. Reviewers have three days left to hit up our master list of gifts and leave as many reviews as they can. Writers and authors who participated in this round also have three days to send us their first, second and third choices out of those who reviewed their submission. They can comment here with their choices or email the mods at dmhgficexchange at yahoo dot ca. The sooner you review, the better are your chances that our writers and artists will consider you, so try to put some time aside if you want to participate, and don't forget, we have some ship-related prizes for the top two! The dmhgficexchange's "Shine a Light with Draco and Hermione" (fall round, 2008) presents: The Master List RevealsThere are a lot of people we need to thank, people who've helped us, people who've selflessly saved the day, and people who make this ship one of the best in terms of participation and activity. Our numbers this year are 119 gifts, and each of those groups above had something to do with making this round such a success, and you all deserve our gratitude and admiration. We asked reetinkerbell to help our mod team this round, and help us out she did! She worked tirelessly with all aspects of the exchange, and without her we'd be hopelessly behind and unorganized. If you're ever looking for a co-mod, we highly recommend asking her to see if she'd be interested. Secondly, we need to thank all the pinch-hitters who stepped in to write or draw this round. Without them a good portion of you simply would not have received a gift. They worked on much shorter deadlines and really came through. We've indicated in the list in red when a pinch-hitter has created a story or piece of artwork. The participation in the Draco/Hermione ship is what keeps us alive and thriving, and what will keep us around in the future. The mods cannot thank you all enough for that, and we urge you all to participate not only in this exchange in the future, but also in any Draco/Hermione exchange, fest, contest, etc. that you hear of and find interesting. The Draco/Hermione section of fandom has an incredible amount of talent, energy, and activity, and you all are to thank for that! Before we jump to the list, some important things: - PLEASE let us know if you do not see a gift posted for yourself and you signed up as a regular participant and turned in your assignment. A quick way to check is to push crtl+f and then enter your username.

Title: The Moment That It Stops Author/Artist: vexiaRating: T Disclaimer: All characters belong to JKR; pictures taken from WeHeartIt. Warnings: Thematic content that I can't say without giving too much away. Nothing graphic. Summary: It's like they're almost friends, almost ex-lovers finally meeting for the first time after a break-up. It's much more complicated than that. Notes: It takes place four years after the War, and I took a lot of creative liberty with this, so it really isn't canon-compliant. There are certain aspects taken for influence but not very much. A lot of backstory/history is implied and a lot of other things left open-ended as this was initially meant for something longer, but it also works as a slight standalone I suppose. On its own, it's a story of companionship with a growing undercurrent of something intense (and then some). So here's my gift for the community. There have been many wonderful things so far, and I can't believe the enormous amount of participating even long after the series has finished. Title: Viva La Revolution Author/Artist: RizzleRating: R Disclaimer: I do not own any of these characters or the sandbox they play in. They belong to J. K Rowling. I am not/never have been Eugene V. Debs and do not claim ownership of anything he has said/written/doodled. Summary: Harry never made it and so the future of Magical Britain was re-written. Seventeen years after the fall of Hogwarts, the Commander of Voldemort’s Death Eater Army contemplates what true freedom really means. Warnings: Infidelity, angst and medium-to-high suspension of disbelief. Notes: This is a story about choices and the fact that some types of ‘freedom’ don’t actually allow you many choices at all. I thought the themes behind the quote were specific enough to apply this storyline (whether readers think so, is another matter, of course!). Also, for Draco to be what he is here, I feel he would have needed to endure a major tragedy in his life, so apologies in advance for the angst. Warnings: A few canon character deaths are referred to, and there is the vaguest mention of one non-canon character death. There's also some Draco-centred angst. Author Notes: It is inexcusable that this is so late. All I can say in my defense is that when I began it, I thought it would be a 4-5 page thing, but then it kind of got away from me and grew to the length it is now. I'm so sorry to my giftee, who I really hope forgives me! Especially after I was lucky enough to get her very awesome, inspiring prompt.
