DMC_fics is a community dedicated to the posting and sharing of Devil May Cry fanfictions, regardless of rating, type, or genre.

Whether your fanfiction, or the one you want to read, is gen, het, yaoi, yuri, rated G or rated NC-17, about the game, the anime, the comic, the manga or the novel, DMC_fics is the place for you!

The First Rule

You must be 18 years of age or older to join the community.
Period. No exceptions.

If you do not have your birth year visible in your LJ userinfo, or if you're underage, your membership application will be rejected.
I will not hunt around your LJ for your date of birth or age. This fandom has a high porn yield, and said porn is often rather extreme, so we follow LJ's rules on adult-oriented communities. Re-apply when you turn 18 or you put your date of birth in your user info.
If you are not 18, you can still watch (friend) the community, but you will not see the NC-17 and R-rated fanfictions.
Anyone found to have lied about one's age to join will be banned on the spot. We don't hate you, we're just covering our asses.
There will be absolutely no discussion on the age point.

The Other Rules

There are only two kinds of posts that are on-topic for this community:
- Fanfictions. Gen, yaoi, yuri, het, weapon!sex, twincest, as long as it's Devil May Cry, it's all welcome. From G-rated fluff to epics to smutty PWPs, it's got a home here.
- Devil May Cry fanfiction-related community promotions.
Nothing else.
Please, please make sure your fanfiction is proofread, spellchecked and betaed before posting. One typo or two can happen, but an entire fic splet lki dis lolololol is not even worth leaving your hard drive. Txt spk and 1337 are not funny either.
Place the body of your fanfiction behind a LJ cut so as to not clutter the members' friendslists and allow them to skip fanfictions that do not appeal to them.

Properly label your fanfictions with all apropriate warnings in the header, and add the approriate tags to your posts.

How to do a fanfiction header: This post has a header template you can use.
How to add tags: Click on the Edit Tags link or button () and select all tags that apply to your fanfiction from the list. To select more than one tag, hold down Ctrl.

If you know a fanfiction has content you don't like, do not read it. It's that simple. If you do anyway, them's the breaks. We won't have any pity for you if you do then whine about it. Hell, we'll probably laugh at you. We aren't your moms, nannies, or babysitters.
Absolutely no flaming. If you don't like a character or pairing, oh well, sucks to be you. The fandom does not revolve around you and does not have to cater to your tastes, whatever they may be.
Posts containing the infamous "if this is not allowed, mods, please delete this!" or one of its variation and showing that the rules have obviously not been read will be deleted and the poster banned. Read the rules before you post, it's not that hard to do.
"ZOMG IM LEAVIN 4EVAH!!1!" posts are ground for immediate permaban. You want to leave forever? Certainly. Let us help you.

Posts Not Allowed

Fanart, unless it's made to go with a fanfiction (for example, a cover), and posted with said fanfiction.
Mary Sues and/or Gary Stus. Original characters are allowed, but Mary Sue and Gary Stu are not welcome here.

The mods reserve the right to remove any stories deemed by them (and possibly other members) to be being Mary Sue fanfictions. We don't want to read about your masturbation fantasies, kthxbai.

LJ icons. Take those to dmc_icons.
Other community promotions. If it's not specifically Devil May Cry and fanfiction-related, promote it elsewhere, such as on community_promo.

Your Moderators

zannechaos: Maintainer. Represents the Dante/Trish OTP corner of the fandom sandbox, and has various, scattered, incomplete fanfics for it. She doesn't often write porn, but when she does, it tends to get into the kinky BDSM side of things. Her plotbunnies for DMC are unfortunately lazy and fat critters who rarely give her anything, although there have been reports of a preseries Vergil hanging around the plotbunnyattack zone. Perhaps something will change...
nyxmidnight: Moderator. Represents the Dante/Vergil OTP corner of the fandom sandbox... most of the time. On the side, she explores the strangest pairings known to the fandom, be it in art, fics, or bunnies. Lately, she's been exploring genres and pairing, from rape to fluff, from slash to het, in a wide range of combination. Has a taste for the bloody and the depraved. Presently has in residence a permanent Vergil muse who dragged Jester and Arkham along for the ride.
trowacko: Moderator. Has, perhaps, an unhealthy fetish for odd pairings and situations. You can expect anything and everything from mildly humorous, to the utterly dark and/or depraved. In fact, the more depraved, the more likely it is she'll be intrigued. She's also got 'EASY' tattooed on her forehead and can be intrigued to write fic or drabble on request, although it must be noted that the 'EASY' kinda hides the 'SLOW' right behind it...
