It has been decided that to further the plot some untaken characters needed for its development will be give temporarily open accounts. This is so that we don't have to keep working around important characters (like Thatz or Delte) but also so that their characters remains open for application in the future.

In case you wondered what happens in their world after they die.
Short summary of the three possibilities a dead soul faces:
Reincarnation (the most common, new body and memories)
Revival (what kept happening to Rath and Nadil, old memories, body made to look like your old one whether it be the same one or not)
Rebirth (what Nohiro can do, same body [at the start of the life cycle, though], no memories, only applicable for members of the Spirit Tribe)

This is more or less a guide for any new RPers as well as give an idea of what kind of a standard format I'm looking at for posts. But I won't get angry if someone messes up >_>;

Players/Characters can choose to not participate in the event. I'd probably make a list of who all would and would not be participating so we won't have any conflicts. Also, such large events can only happen every so often and in a timely manner, as it can't just spontaneously happen. So how the hell does time work in this place?
Usually I consider a post made by a character to take up a full day, even if the player is actually playing through the thread over a period of days (like they started the post/thread on Monday and is still RPing that same thread through Wednesday).
If you want to keep the RP in one thread and have time pass, just make a time passes comment xD; Simple enough~
Exact dates and months and seasons and years do not apply in this RP >_> It would be waaaaaay too confusing, and nothing has to be that time specific. Just get a general sense of time and it's all good.
It is possible to have your character in more than one thread at a time. As long as you know that nothing will happen in a previous thread that would render your character unable to interact with the other thread, the character just pretends that events from the older thread have already happened.

Some of you may have noticed that there are some characters that are floating around and acting much like a "mod" in the world. There are also npcs that other players can have access to and use to help advance the stories/missions and make things a bit more interesting (Random demon encounter anyone? 8D)
Ω Mods Only
There are currently two important "NPC" characters in the RP: Sarazar and the Mysterious Mission Giver (MMG...they'll get a name eventually maybe. Nicknames are perfectly acceptable ♥~). These are basically controlled by me and the mods and are used to help inform the players/characters of certain events and give out missions. Both Sarazar and MMG can give out missions.

Sarazar was originally the fortune teller that Lykouleon used before finally hiring Cesia and Delte. She's come back from her long break and can be summoned either from the Dragon Palace or from the Water Realm. You can ask her questions, though her answers will not always be straight, and her connection to the living world is still a bit on the fritzy side, so don't be surprised if she randomly cuts out.
She can also speak through the winds if she has a dire message to tell everyone, so heed whatever cryptic warning she gives.
She is also capable of giving out missions, and if a character has died, she is the one to turn to to receive missions to revive the deceased character.

No one knows this NPC's true identity, it's unsure of it's a man or woman or what race. Hell, it could be a different person each time! People are free to give the NPC a name or nickname, the true identity may or may not be revealed at a later point in time.
MMG's main person is, you guessed it, give missions to characters. Missions can either be requested by the player or spontaneously thought up by a mod (most probably me, so bwaha 8D). MMG will always be near the Dragon Castle, though MMG will probably find you before the character finds him/her.
Ω Player Controlled
Along with the mod controlled only NPCs, there are currently two different accounts which the Players can have access to and take some control over. If a player is interested in doing so, they just need to send a message to any of the mods or myself and we'll provide the password. You are not allowed to share this password unless you tell us who you specifically will share it with. Seriously, I'm putting a lot of trust about this. Though it's not like any random person would find any use with this thing >_> That being said, here are some rules:
[001] No player-cesting. You can't play both the NPC and your character if those are the only ones interacting. If there is a third character involved, then that's fine, you just can't start a thread and start talking to yourself >_>
[002] No god-modding. Just like normal rules, and this is stress upon the demon npcs.
[003] No relationships. >_>...These are NPCs, not characters. Now, you are free to have someone create an original characters based of the NPC :O That's perfectly fine.
[004] No messing with the accounts. No editing information, changing passwords, adding/removing/switching userpics. If you do without my permission you are dead and I'll will disallow public use of the accounts. If you have a suggestion about the account, then feel free to ask. Just don't do it on your own.

This one account can act out as up to 15 different NPC types. There is one userpic per type of NPC and feel free to use them for missions, general interactivity (walk into a bar? Have the bartender greet you~), and what not. Just don't use them in a thread excessively, and you cannot make them do something that they wouldn't normally do. They cannot follow you, only give you information or receive whatever it is they asked for. They can ask for requests, but you'll have to ask the mods on that one (most probably yes, lol).

Oh come on, you expect to go through a mission, adventure, whatever without a RANDOM DEMON ENCOUNTER!?!? Pffft of course not! It wouldn't be as fun or dramatic 8D
And when I say random I mean random. Unless you say you're against it, another player (or me mod) can come in at any practical or suggested/prompted moment and attack your character.
Of course, no god-modding. These demons are just rogue ones who are more animalistic than anything else. They aren't the higher evolved ones and just attack rashly. Think of them more as monsters. Also, wild, dangerous animals may be included here.

What happens when a character is dropped depends whether or not if it is an original character or Dragon Knights character.
For a DK character, the character's actions will have "frozen" until a new player applies and is accepted to play the role. It could be assumed that the character is out somewhere on a mission and just not accessible for contact. However, if the character gets a new player, the player must pick up where the original character left off to help keep the flow of the storyline smooth. Everyone will act as if the character had just been gone for a long period of time, but no drastic changes should be made to the character. Therefore, the new player must have a good knowledge of what that character has been through and be able to provide some of that knowledge when applying.
For OCs, the character will have just vanished without a trace. They could either have just died or slipped into another dimension. Still active characters will remember the character and if the character ever returns to the RP (yes, you're welcome back whenever :D) no one will have forgotten them, unless it's been a long time or the character's personality is like that.
It is asked, but not required, for the player dropping the character to leave the journal open for the next applicable player to help keep things flowing and have access to any information that may have been posted in there. Original characters do not have to leave their journal behind, but can if so desired. This is more applicable to DK character journals.

Okay, so we know in the Dragon Knights canon that there were mentionings of other worlds and dimensions and how demons like Sabel and Zoma had the ability to actually use some objects or create portals to go through them. Heaven Star Princess and Grinfish also claimed to have been from another world, and the death faeries obviously travel through a separate dimension where the souls gather.
Are they still in the RP? Somewhat.
Characters can have the ability to traverse dimensions but not other worlds, except to travel to Kainaldia and for canon characters that already could, such as Heaven Star Princess and Grinfish.
So then what's the difference between a world and a dimension?
A world is something in an entirely different place from "Shinsekai," like Kainaldia. Dimensions are more like the realms that characters pass through as a path to go to one place to another within the same world and the spiritual realm. For example, Sabel could try to travel through different dimensions/realms to go from one part of Dusis to another.
What do these dimensions look like? Pretty much just black empty space so it's really not that hard to get lost >_> There's always a way out, and a death faerie may be nearby to help if they wished. But there are also dangers such as different unworldly creatures that may have slipped through and wander around, so be careful.

So what exactly happens when a dead Dragon Knights character comes back to life?
...Nothing that special, really xD;
When a DK character is revived, every death faerie will know (as they are attuned to the dead souls in their charge) and Sarazar may or may not announce the revival of a character.
There are three generic places where a character can spawn, though with a mod's approval, a character can spawn somewhere else than the ones listed below:
Dragons - will spawn somewhere in Dusis, but not in the Dragon Palace unless approved.
Demons - will spawn in the Forest of the Damned in Kainaldia, though if given a mod approval it is possible for them to land in Arinas or somewhere outside Dusis.
Faeries - will spawn in the Water Realm or some other faerie forest.

When the character comes back to life, they will have all of their memories from up to the point of their death and have the option to learn of anything about them after their death. They cannot learn anything about other characters, however.

Characters can die in this RP. But they don't have to stay dead :O That wouldn't be as fun now, would it? xD Here is everything you need to know about how death/revivals work.
Φ Reviving a character
The difficulty in reviving a characters will vary depending upon the circumstances revolving around the character's death and the condition of the body. A living character, a friend for example, will have to fulfill some sort of mission or quest to retrieve an item or perform some ritual to revive the character. Bodies will be preserved in various locations, depending on the character and the level. All demons are sent to Kainaldia's Sea of the Dead or Forest of the Damned. Characters must turn to Sarazar (dragonoracle) to retrieve the mission. She can be found in either the Dragon Castle or summoned through the Water Realm.
Here are the general ideas of how hard the task can be:
» Level 1: A level 1 Revival mission requires that the deceased character to have died either from an illness, mild curse, or bled to death while suffering only minor injuries. Their body is relatively intact and can be preserved in the Water Realm until the character taking the mission returns. The mission difficulty for this is relatively easy, usually involving gathering semi-hard to find ingredients which a death faerie will make a revival elixir. All injuries will be healed.
» Level 2: The deceased character must have suffered severe injuries with the possibility of losing at most one limb or suffered from a medium to strong curse. The body can be either in the Water Realm or held by the death faeries in an alternate spiritual dimension with a connection to the Water Realm. The difficulty of the mission is medium to hard, either involving gathering more difficult to find ingredients or killing some creature and capturing its essence. Most injuries will be healed, though the character will come back to life feeling a bit of pain.
» Level 3: The highest level, and the deceased character must have really gotten worked o_o; They must have been absorbed/eaten by a creature (but not another character), mangled beyond recognition, or anything else of that nature that would cause very severe injuries. As the corporeal body is pretty much obliterated, only the soul is left to save. Mission difficulty is hard to omfg-I-hate-this-ow. The only way for a character who has been killed in this manner is to actually go into the spirit realm and battle through the various creatures and journey to find the deceased character's soul, and even then they have to coax the soul to return. Once this has accomplished, the character's body will be reformed, though it will be a very painful experience.
At any point during the revival process can a character enlist Sabel or any other character, such as a death faerie, who can sense/see spirits for help so long as they are not busy with some other task. Other characters can help or hinder in the mission as well. The latter two difficulties are not supposed to be a walk in the park; figure out ways to make it hard and invite other characters to help in that process~ You don't want me coming in there 8D

All right, time to tackle the original characters. As the possibility of original characters becoming overpowered is more likely than the canon characters, there are important rules that are in place to make sure that powers are kept in balance so things can be fair and allow for a better experience for the RP community.

This is the list of all the available Dragon Knights characters.
Check out my awesome cool new table format for the characters XD; It was kind of getting cluttered before as more people started apping and reserving characters, so I thought this would be more organized :D Just check the Status column to see if a characters is Reserved, Taken, or Open. I still have the names either bolded or italicized if they're taken or reserved, respectively, to make it even easier to tell right on the spot.
Canon characters are listed by clan and their position (if they have one) is noted next to them. Dead characters are at the end, followed by Original Characters.

This has come about due to no one applying for them and the need to have them in the RP. Basically, the characters are still open for application, they will just have already been used in the RP (so keeping track of where that character has been will be somewhat important when applying). How the Public Journals work is every similar to the NPC account. Basically certain RPers can RP as the character when they are needed and the password is given on a need to know basis. If you get accepted for the character, you will have access to the journal and will have to change the password so no confusion occurs.
