Rarely do I ever say anything 'as a woman'.

But seriously, as a woman, I'm deeply offended by Palin getting nominated as vp. It was clearly some stupid ploy to try to get hillary voters, or to try to appeal to the base. Either way, I had always figured that if McCain was going to try to get a woman on the ticket it couldn't get much worse than Carly Fiorina (completely different story entirely, don't get me started).

Well he managed to fail at a higher order of magnitude than thought possible. I was really hoping that if I saw a woman pres/vp in my lifetime she wouldn't want to make me facepalm so hard.

So yeah, she used to be part of an organization that was pushing for Alaska to secede from the union, wants to teach abstinence only sex ed (yeah that worked out well didn't it?), tried to build a sports complex in Wasallia for $15 mil in a place where there wasn't even public water, says Iraq was a mission from God, and is showing no signs of promoting a relatively transparent vice presidency (we're talking relative to CHENEY here, he's so un-transparent (opaque?) that he had his house removed from google maps for crying out loud).

But never mind all that, she's folksy and on the same level as the average American and oh yeah it's historic and she's breaking the glass ceiling and all that.

Sebastian has been so bad the last few days. This usually very sweet and well behaved kid suddenly has turned into a menace. Yesterday, he threw a bunch of books and stuff down the basement stairs. Today was the worst. He threw his toys all over the place. Took my stuff and put it into a big box and then dumped it all over the place. He spent a good amount of time in the corner for that. Then he took some pens and wrote all over the toilet and then threw the pen in the toilet. Back to the corner for that. He then managed to squeeze a bunch of lotion into his rinse cup. He threw something on top of Zack, my African Grey's cage. Then he poured water in the trash can and said he peed in there. I think it was just water. He got in trouble for that. Then he got his watering can from his bath toys and poured water in the trash can again and all over the floor. So it was back to the corner again. He also closed himself in the bedroom and was pulling the dog's tail and harassing her with a giant box. I was fed up so he did not go to the grocery store with me as he usually does. He wanted to go so bad and begged me to put on his shoes but I just needed to go away so he stayed with daddy and drove him nuts while I was gone. I told hubby I hated being a parent and didn't understand why other people enjoyed it so much. I also told him I will never understand why people have more than one kid and this is coming from someone that has a very good kid except for today. I really can't understand why people have more than one when they have a little brat already. I guess maybe they think the second one will be better, well that is not always the case, I have seen it on nanny 911. I don't know, maybe I am just not cut out to be a parent. I know I would have my tubes tied in a second if I wouldn't have discovered Seasonique and now only have periods 4 times a year. It's just too bad the female reproductive organs don't have an on and off switch because I would certainly like to turn my off permanently especially after today. The weird thing about it all is I actually missed having Sebastian going along with me to the grocery store. I just don't know. :(

i HAVE to be pregnant. i mean. i know i am, but still in disbelief of it ya know? showing no outward signs of it, Hormonal as all hell, random crying, and extremely tired. but still in disbelief.... i've felt little flutters that i KNOW aren't just Indigestion or gas. but still i wonder... i do!

in other news. i thinkt he new guy at work dislikes me, because i do storm out when i know i get hormanl surges, and i get upset really easily. I do not want to say something i will regret. His words back to me bit, that i wanted to turn him into a mini-Me, which is so far from the truth, I just want him to be a great portrait photographer. He is VERY cocky about having taken good pictures, doing landscapes, and taking alot of pictures of his cats. Great and all, but it's not that whiney 2 year old that will not sit still, or that mother who is overly picky her kid should look JUST RIGHT or smile JUST SO. so giving him hints and tips towards this is trying to make him a mini me? yeah, i don't think so. he has a bit of a stick up his ass that he knows everything, and can do anything, because he is 4 years older then me, and 8 years older then his boss and he has been doing this a really really long time. Cats Don't Qualify you.

Sister is still a bitch and apparently does not understand why i am angry at her, or why mom can not visit me, due to her messing up like this.

Just got the plans settled, the lizard has her sitter arranged for, and the hubby and I are heaed back home to Detroit for a visit while his thumb heals- he put a drill bit into his thumb nail, it's ikky beyond words but he's taking care to keep it clean (hence the holiday), and while he heals up, we'll be feasting on our faves from the restaurants we miss the most, like El Cafetal, home of Elda's Speical Guatamalan Combination, then to Cedarland for a shwarma (or however it's spelt), I haven't had either in over a year and they're my favorites from back home.  My parents said the Willie, the dog who appears in my avatar, still looks for me, he'll sit outside my old room and wait for me to wake up, so I know I'm in for some serious puppy-lovin, his cohort pup manny should be happy to see us too, giddy about it, manny's always been a bit skittish since he started life on a puppy mill, but in the years since his rescue he's been slowly opening up more and more, he's supposedly a real little sweetheart now.  Willie was a big part of my life, I miss my dog alot, he's even what convinced my folks that my hubby is a great guy- how could he not be, as much as the dogs liked him?  Yay- I'm giddy and packing too much, as usual!

You know, you can't help it if your teenage daughter gets pregnant. Even if you're a good parent, it can happen. (see: my grandma and my mother, who had me at 17) So I don't think that's any base to mock Sarah Palin.

She tried to get her ex brother in law fired, but hey, maybe she was in an emotional state.

However, I can't forgive her this.

It's not as if this is a deal breaker for me, I have always been an Obama supporter even before he started running for president. But it might help me convince my brother-in-law to not vote for McCain. "She hates books and brother-in-laws!!" haha ;) Last election my sister almost canceled the wedding because he voted for Bush. My family takes politics a little too seriously. :)
