What is divine_oddlings?
We are a community for the unique in intelligence and looks.
You don’t have to be aesthetically odd to be here however you’d better make up for the lack by being interesting. We’re looking for effort in appearance and people who think. Some members may be grammar nazis [and we love you for it] but clever is the bar.

This is not a community for friends to get together and congratulate each other on how wonderful they are. [existing members.......a collective snicker should be inserted here.] Don't expect to get in on loyalty.

Be amusing, be yourself, make us scratch our heads and want to rip you open to dig into your pink bits and figure out how you work.

Questions:
The application goes behind an lj cut. [if you don’t know how, learn.]
[And here's another point, if the questions are asked, it means you need to answer them. Don't pull the "Well, I'll answer if it's really necessary." bullshit. It's necessary. answer it. This shouldn't be too hard for you.]
1. Name, age, location and if you aren’t from there where are you originally from.
2. List bands, books and films you enjoy. 3 is the appropriate number. Tell us why you like these things. Brevity is NOT your friend. The days of us accepting grocery lists of what you like have ended.
3. What are you passionate about? [if you lame out on this question you have no chance, this is where we find out if you are interesting and worth having around.] If you lack in passion, what inspires, what moves, what initiates thoughts in you when you are alone.
4. Write a short story. The length doesn't matter, but it must have all the necessities to be considered a story.
5. Pop quiz, hotshot. . . airport. Gunman with one hostage, using her for cover. He's almost on the plane. You're a hundred feet away. . . what do you do?
6. Define snarfy for me please.
7. Dinner. With who. Why?
8. Insert any art that you are responsible for, that you think we'd be interested in.
9. 3 pictures or more. No links for god’s sake. Show your face clearly. No photoshop shit. No high contrast. No far away pictures with your darling sweet isn’t-he-cute significant other. As a matter of fact if you think like that don’t post here at all. No group photos. We want to see you. Red x’s piss everyone off.

If you are asked to elaborate on one point you mentioned, fine, but if overall your application is short, uninformative or boring someone will go ahead and ban you before voting is over. Because it's a waste of time.

Mods may go to your personal journal to see if you divine oddlings material.

What will get you banned?
1. Deleting. Do not delete your post, any comments made or any unpopular photos.
2. Racist, sexist or homophobic comments. Yeah yeah first amendment fuck off. Say it elsewhere.
3. Commenting on a member's personal journal without permission. Don’t bother us, you’re ugly and moronic, blame your parents. DNA’s a motherfucker isn’t it? Read this rule carefully, see it says no posting in a members journal.
4. Commenting on a post other than your own if you are not stamped. Hey! this goes for your little friends too!
5. Starting your post with any sort of self deprecating remarks. E.g. “I’m ugly but here goes.” If you’re so ugly don’t subject us to you.

What will get you banned after you've been stamped?
1. If you have been stamped and your comments are consistently un-amusing the mods will discuss it and majority rules.
2. If you are a member who doesn't vote, answer the questions put to the community by other members, or contribute, a post will be put up in the community naming you and calling you out on that shit. If you don't respond, you're banned. Even if you do respond the mods will get together and discuss your lame ass. If we decide a mistake was made in letting you in, bye.
3. If you vote no to someone based only on their music, books, movies or looks.

Nudity:
Nakedness is encouraged as long as you follow these rules.
None in your first post.
When and if you are accepted make it a friends only post, post it behind an lj cut and make sure the cut text lets us know that they are nudes.
Most of us are pervs but not everyone wants to see your ass.
If you are under the age of 18, no risque whatsoever. Sorry UK people, we know you can fuck at 16 but no posting your naughty bits.
And the nudes must be of you, or someone that you have photographed. no porn, we have that already.

The moderators have final say over everything. That’s the way we scrap. Yes this is a community but if a mod finds you ridiculously inappropriate, you’re out.

Stamping by us means we think your opinions are worth hearing. So if you’re stamped, be a bitch. Be a bastard. But make sense. Yes’s and no’s are boring, give reasons if you feel so inspired.
