This is a different kind of icontest. Instead of process of elimination, winners will be determined based on their cumulative scores for the round. I decided it would be nice to have an alternative to the negativity of a LIMS. I know I get really frustrated with being voted off a LIMS when I've worked really hard on an icon and often find the negative comments more discouraging than helpful. And so the rumble is my answer! As far as I'm aware this is the first community to run an icontest in this fashion.



Feel free to start your own rumble =) I think they are fun and that there should be more of them. It would be greatly appreciated though if you could link back to [info]disney_rumble with credit. I'd also love to know about it if you start a new rumble community so I can add it to our affiliates =)

Rules and Stuff Like That

  • To participate sign up in the Sign up post. Sign ups for Round 4 close April 18th, midnight EST, when the 1st icon is due.

  • For weeks that screen caps are provided only those screen caps may be used. Screen caps may be blended.

  • Animations are not allowed.

  • Icons must meet LJ standards (100 x 100, 40 kb)

  • Upload your icon to a hosting site like Photobucket and post your entry in the corresponding challenge post with both link and image included.

  • Icons should be anonymous, so your LJ name should not be visible anywhere.

  • The person with the highest cumulative score at the end of all the challenges will be the winner.

  • Each week a bonus point will be awarded for the weekly special category. Whoever gets the most votes for the bonus category will earn the bonus point. You do not have to design your icon based on the special category if you do not wish too.


    • Voting and Points

  • Every week there will be a voting period. Everyone votes for their favorite 3 icons. A 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded each week.

  • At the end of each voting period votes will be tallied and points will be awarded as so:



    • 1st= 3 points

    2nd= 2 points

    3rd= 1 point


  • A point will be awarded for each challenge you submit an icon to. There are 10 challenges per round

  • There will also be a special category to vote for each week, worth 1 point.

  • If a tie should occur both participants will receive the points for the place they tied for.

  • There will also be a special category to vote for each week.

  • Cheating will not be tolerated.


    • Bonus Points

  • As always a community needs promo. Since we're not doing passes this time around promos will be awarded with points. For each promo you do you can earn yourself a point. A total of 2 points can be earned this way. Please no promos in promo only communities. Post a link to the promo or a screen grab if its a locked post in a comment to this entry. Promo points must be earned by January 25th, midnight EST.
  • We also could use new members so you can earn yourself a point for each person you get to sign up. Have the people you get to sign up provide your username as a referral when they sign up. You can earn 3 points this way. All referral points must be earned by January 25th, midnight EST.

    Special Category Examples
  • Crop- Icon that demonstrates the best/most creative crop.

  • Text- Icon that demonstrates the best/most creative use of text.

  • Best Blend- Icon that most effectively blends 2 or more of the given screen caps.
