The results of the poll were REALLY evenly split, so that makes the task of choosing a schedule harder for me. :S I think I will switch to the nine-day schedule for now, though, because this matches the regular challenges (7 days to submit, 2+ days for voting).

I've come to the really tough decision that it is time for me to step down as a co-mod here at disney_hush .

I've really enjoyed modding this community for the last year but its time for me to step down.  I was hoping once I finished school I would have more time for modding duties but the opposite seems to be the case, especially after last week. I've debatied back and forth  for months now about what to do and I've finally concluded that this is what I need to do.  Modding has become more of an extra stress than the fun job it should be. I'm also hoping the time it frees up will let me get back to making icons occasionally, something I haven't done in months.

Its been wonderful to get a chance to meet you all and see your fantastic icons and read your wonderful ideas and comments each week. Its been an honor to be a part of this community!  Hopefully I'll continue to see you all around LJ =)

And since I'll be leaving, chacusha is going to need a new co-mod! Behind the cut will be a co-mod application. If you are interested in being a co-mod please fill out the application. All comments will be screened =)

Sorry for falling off the face of the earth last week everyone! I ended up being crazy busy last week, much more so than expected! Today has been the first day since last Monday that I've had a chance to sit down and catch up with myself. I usually try to give some kind of warning if I'm not going to be around but I totally wasn't expecting to be as busy as I was.

A big thanks to chacusha for doing such a fabulous job during my unexpected absence!

Anyways...back to the main purpose of this post!

Anyone interested in becoming a banner maker? Right now I think we are down to only 2 volunteers =( I know lots of our banner makers volunteer as banner makers at other communities and/or mod their own communities so I like to have at least 4 banner makers at all times. I keep a pretty frequently updated schedule so all banner makers have a heads up on which challenge they'll be making banners for.

The most important requirement for a banner maker is to be able to get the banners done within 2 weeks of results being posted. I can't stress that enough! Nothing drives me more nutty than to realize we have banners that months over due! Its not fair to the challenge winners and I hate having to hound people for banners.

The 2nd most important requirement is that if you can't get your assigned banners down within 2 weeks of results that is totally understandable! Just please, please, please leave a comment in the results post, or the banner maker schedule post, letting me know. The sooner I know the sooner I can get a replacement banner maker

Hey everyone, believe it or not, it's our 150th challenge! I was hoping to hear back from chimera_x about what would be a good thing to do, but I think I've come up with a reasonably good way to celebrate!

This will be a two-part challenge, and you can submit up to 3 icons to each part (so a total of 6 icons).

Rules:
- You may submit up to 3 icons per challenge (for a total of up to 6) by Friday, June 26, 10:00pm PST Thursday, July 2, 10:00pm PST.
- For the first challenge, you may not include any text in your icons -- symbols such as !, @, *, ? and similar are not allowed but tiny (unreadable) text is fine.
- Textures/brushes etc. are fine.
- Blending is allowed.
- You must post your icons in a comment to this entry.

I'm proud to announce the next LIMS round -- a collection of technical challenges! All icon makers of all skill levels are welcomed and encouraged!

Participating: If you would like to participate in this round, please read the rules and comment here with your username. Sign ups will most likely end on July 10th (you may sign up until Challenge 2 icons are due). Make sure you join and friend the community so you can keep up with the challenges. There is no cap on how many people may participate.

Earning an extra skip: Each participant is automatically given one skip. Contestants may earn one extra skip by pimping this round in other journals. Just comment here with the link to the journal where the link is posted (both personal journals and communities are fine).

Comeback Challenge: There will be a comeback challenge late in the round, which will allow for a few people who have been eliminated to reenter the competition.
