KYOKAO SUMMER ART & FIC CONTEST!
kyokao's summer art & fic contest!
-premise-kyokao is hosting its summer art & fic contest- a contest that joins artists and writers, uniting fans and talent! Artists and writers will join up and produce a collaborative single entry of a fic + illustration, under the theme of UROBOROS. Submitted work has to be inspired by one of the thirteen songs from the album, open to entrants' interpretation.

•This is a collaborative contest. Entrants must enter as artist-writer pairs and each produce a piece relating to the other under a shared theme.
•The overall theme is Uroboros. Teams should select one of the thirteen songs from the album and create their works inspired by their selected theme. How the theme is expressed is up to your interpretation.
•Entrants are responsible for forming their own pairs. However, to assist people in finding partners, we've created both an AUTHOR POST and an ARTIST POST, where unpartnered artists and authors can provide samples of their work, browse potential partners, and connect with other fans to work with!
•Fanfiction must be one part but of unlimited length. Art is limited to one illustration per entry.
•Each individual is permitted to enter once as an artist, and once as an author. Multitalented entrants are not permitted to do all of a single entry. You must work in teams. Do not exceed one entry as an author and one as an artist.
•All entries must be posted tokyokao by one member of the team. The post should have the subject line "CONTEST ENTRY- SONG TITLE" i.e. "CONTEST ENTRY- REIKETSU NARISEBA" if that is your chosen theme. Each entry should clearly state the Artist's username and the Author's username, and contain the text of the fanfiction and the image of the illustration. Please do not provide a link to illustrations or fanfiction on another site; include your images and text in your entry.
•Entries will be judged not only on the quality of the individual written and artistic portions of the entry, but how they reflect each other and the chosen theme.
-deadline- Each fanfiction and accompanying art must be posted in a single entry by one of the participants by August 15, 2009.
-prizes- Both artist and writer of the winning team will receive an individual prize of their choosing. Prize options are a CDJapan gift certificate valuing ¥3000, a deviantArt year-subscription worth $29.95, a Livejournal year-long paid account worth $25.00, or a teeshirt from Dir en grey's official store on GoMerch.com worth $25.00 with free shipping worldwide. Alternatively, if a new single is announced before the contest is completed, the winners have the option of a pre-order of the limited edition first press of the new single. The winning team will be announced in the community, and the artist and writer individually contacted to select their prizes.
