Flaming Dinos

A-kon is this weekend in Dallas, and I'm planning to go, cosplaying Kamio and possibly Oshitari as well. Just wondering how many others who frequent here are going to be there, and if they also plan to do cosplays.

I heard talk last year about them trying to have official photo shoots for Bleach/Naruto/Kingdom Hearts.

I know there was a fairly good sized Hyoutei group there last year, and was just hoping that they might be there again this year, because I'd love to do a shoot, even if it is unofficial. ^^

I'm sad that my favorite characters didn't go through, too, and I'm glad that everyone's getting into it, but in the end, this is a fun little fandom thing. Let's not make it unfair by using 86 journals when other people only have one, okay?

- for the school competition, it was Hyoutei, with 27.4% of the votes. (Seigaku followed close behind with 25.3%, Rikkai with 18.5% and Fudomine with 13%.) -- Interestingly enough, this order reflects our top eight contestants, with half of them on Hyoutei's team, three from Seigaku, and just one representating Rikkai. *glassespush!*

- and for the media competition (aka, how do you like your Tenipuri served?), the winner was Musicals, with 34.6% of the votes.

I would like to remind all voters that any journal other than a user's primary account will be disqualified from the final count. This primarily includes RP journals although it also extends to fic and creative journals. I really don't mean to start any commotion with this, but some people have more RP journals than others, and in order for this to be a fair contest with an even playing field, I have to do this. I have been checking who's been voting periodically and have had to make note of some disqualifications already. So please, please, let's be fair about this, okay?

After thinking it over (and taking some good advice), I decided the best way to conduct the tourney is to post it here and advertise it on tenipuri -- that way, people who want to can just click a link and bop over here to vote. :D

We're drawing from a pool of 128 names (some of whom I have no idea who they are) and thus seven rounds like a real Grand Slam, with two rounds posted each week (Mondays and Thursdays; this week is a little early because I wanted to get a head start, and the first round always takes more work)~

The rules are simple. For every matchup, pick one. That's it. That's all. Use whatever criteria you want: they're prettier, they're more seme, they'd win at tennis, they're more generally fabulous and thus likely to win an all-out deathmatch ... whatever you want. ;D

Last year we had a pretty popular poll-thinger that I posted on this comm, and I'd like to do it again sometime soonish -- we've got more characters to vote for this time, so we'll need more weeks to vote!

So my post here is twofold:

First! ... is this community still being watched? It's seemed kinda, well, deadish, so I thought I'd give it a poke and see if there was any life left.

a. Who are your top four favorite characters? I want to try seeding some characters this time and I could easily guess, but um. I don't want to assume too much. XD;
b. I might have to leave out some people in order to get an even and/or manageable number. So, are there any really minor/obscure characters that I should include on the tournament this year?

Hey guys! :D i made a post last year asking the question Would they ever make a PoT dub? And I think the general consensus at the time was that it was not going to happen, but lo and behold, we have a dub! XDDD

This is not a post to discuss the dub itself, as we have had that one many, many times already. This is more a of a follow up in the sense of, do you think we'll be seeing PoT on TV? How successful could you see this dub becoming?

I could see it becoming profitable and popular in english, just like any of the other spew of english dubs we've been seeing these days. I could see the dub being appropriate for the Friday evening time slot on YTV, or on Cartoon Network, ect. myself.

Also...how will we feel about dub fans in the case that it does gain massive dub appeal? :D I would be interested and horrified at what they do to the boys we know and love, but i dont want to start wank before it's even a possibility XDDD

Anyway, thoughts? :D

After having a conversation with cody_saoryn of the cracky sort, I came up with this.

Because this doesn't make much sense without knowledge of the conversation Kochi and I had, I will summarize it briefly. If Tezuka was a prostitute, Nanjirou would be his pimp. Hyoutei would be a host club, Sakaki at the head of operations. Fuji would be a collector, among Fuji's collection -- Yuuta, Tachibana (and therefore the rest of Fudoumine,) Saeki, Kirihara (cactus rape oh no,) Ryoma, Eiji, and most importantly, he would buy Tezuka. Inui wants Tezuka, too, though, so he can have his perfect three, the other two being Yanagi, (who went to Inui willingly,) and Kaidou, who was purchased. Hanamura's masterpieces are only given out to suitable homes, but Wakato ends up with Akutsu? The Jimmies are a tag team, and Ojii owns all of Rokkaku.
That's kinda long for a brief summary, but it makes everything make so much more sense.

Come to a world where school is magically nonexistent, tennis and drama meet like vacuum cleaners around every corner, and the boys have been on a cruise around the world for something like a year and a half, courtesy of the S.S. Atobe & master. This is not that story.

Picture Scotland. Then, picture a lake at the top of a mountain, under a castle reaching the sky and probably containing an internal area equal to the total surface area of Mt. Everest. Welcome to Hogwarts, ladies and gentlemen: and before we forget, the S.S. Atobe happens to be docked. In the lake. Explanations/speculations range from freak accident with an undead cookie!monster to the Bermuda triangle to Atobe's fluffy purple underwear.

Thusly: general plot involves TeniPuri characters running amok in a castle magically (*Banekicked*) devoid of Harry Potter universe inhabitants, attempting to learn spells and avoid being beheaded by poltergeist antics or getting lost forever in cupboards, as well as trying their level best to play tennis on broomsticks with live Quidditch balls trying to get in the way.

All currently available characters may be found in the boiler room of the S.S. Atobe, or at various out of the way locations in the castle. The girls' toilet on the second floor comes highly recommended as a point for popping into existence. ♥
