I want to start brewing at home. I have a lot of space (at 39th and Hawthorne) and some money I'm willing to invest in equipment, etc. I am interested in meeting other Portlanders who are willing to contribute time and money in the pursuit of making awesome beer, and don't mind giving our beers silly dinosaur-inspired names.
My house is big, and my housemates are chill (but not as big into beer as I am). I'm thinking it would be really nice to shoot for four different beers per year, and have a party each time we finish a new beer (my house is perfect for parties, incidentally). Of course, we'll vote on what beers we want to make each quarter (and once we get an idea of our membership, how long it takes to make beer, and how much we're producing, we'll adjust fees, number of brews, etc.).

I think it would be great to meet up for dinner on January 10th so that we can get to know each other, then head to the Oregon Brew Crew's January meeting at FH Steinbart's (the meeting is at 7:30). That way, we can brainstorm the beers we'd like to try our hands at, and pump experienced brewers for advice and exact cost estimates. |
