Twelfth Tutorial: Hilary Duff - War Inc.

»

Made with Photoshop CS2. Uses Variations, Color Balance & Selective Coloring so it''s not translatable.

1. Duplicate Base and place duplicate on Screen (100%)
2. Select the base then go to Image -> Adjustments -> Variations. NOTE: You need to experiment with this because the colors will come of different for every which picture you use, but for the sake of this tutorial, these are the colors I chose.

Leave it on Midtones, I didn't use Shadows, Highlights, or Saturation in this:

Original -> More Yellow -> More Red -> More Cyan -> More Yellow -> More Red -> More Yellow

3. Duplicate the Screen layer and place the duplicate on Luminosity (50%)
4. Color Balance (Select it in your Layer Box and not in Adjustments so you'll get a separate layer on top of everything else:)

Midtones: 24, -20, 30
Shadows: -12, 25, -17
Highlights: -7, 0, 21

Leave on Normal.

5. Selective Coloring (In a separate layer like the Color Balance:)

Reds: -100, -28, 100, -22
Yellows: -100, 30, 100, 23
Neutrals: 18, 11, -45, -29

Leave on Normal.

6. Go to Select -> Select All, then Edit -> Copy Merged. You will paste this picture on top of all the other layers after these next few steps, so paste the picture now in a new, different file (File -> New) so you can come back to it later.

7. Go back to the original file and make a new layer. Fill it with #dec9a5 and place the layer on Multiply (100%). Duplicate this layer and place the duplicate on Softlight (100%)

8. Repeat Step 7, except fill with #c8e6fd and leave the duplicate on Color Burn (80%)

9. Make a new layer and fill it with #030527 and place it on Exclusion (100%)

10. Take the copy merged icon from the new file and place it on top of all the layers on Softlight (30%)

11. Repeat Step 6, place it on top of all the layers. Go to Filter -> Sharpen and leave the layer on Normal (The opacity depends on your icon, but I placed mine on 30%)

12. Repeat Step 7 but fill it with #bfcade, placing the original fill on Softlight (50%) and the duplicate on Color Burn (50%)

13. Repeat Step 6, place it on top of all the layers. Desaturate the layer and place it on Softlight (20%)

That's it! I normally don't do real life tutorials but this picture was too good to resist! I hope this works for you! ♥

"Made with Photoshop CS2. Uses Variations, Color Balance & Selective Coloring so it''s not translatable." *reads makes o_0 face doesn't continue reading* That sentence made no sense. Did you turn the left one into the right one? o_0 I like her eyes and expression better on the left but her lips and hair better on the right. I don't want to like her damnit -_-

"Not Translatable" means you can't use this tutorial with Paintshop Pro, since it doesn't have Selective Coloring. XD
