Personal - Name w Picture
My brother and his wife welcomed their first baby a few weeks back - Brandon Donald Henry made his entrance into this world on Superbowl Weekend. I haven't been able to see him in person, but family is making sure I have pictures via Facebook, which is nice.

Of course, it gave me a reason to scrap... so without further ado...

Supplies came from A Work in Progress, Elegant WordArt by Bethany and Scrap Girls.

Thanks for looking!

Ok so I did it, I tried my hand at digital scrapbooking. I guess I should introduce myself a little here as I'm brand new to this community, and digi scrapbooking!

I've been a traditional scrapbooker for 11 years now - since I was 16! Scrapbooking has come a long way since then, but it's only been the last little while that I've really ever thought about digital scrapbooking. On Sunday I decided I wanted to try it out, and last night I did two layouts. I have to tell you what an agonizing decision it was for me to even begin the thought process of just trying digi scrapping, lol! I know, you can laugh, but I felt like I had to go all or nothing on it. Sunday I spent a few hours doing research on tutorials, kits, and I even read articles on the pros and cons of digital scrapbooking. Finally I came to the realization that it wouldn't hurt to try it. Once I get a thought in my head I can't rest until I've settled the matter. So...my thoughts...

Wow! What a ton of work! It's really amazing though! I love the fact that I can make a layout, and print it twice for each of my kids. No more going back and doing the exact same layout, and buying double the supplies. I know I won't abandon traditional scrapbooking anytime soon, but this was really fun to try, and to incorporate into my books. I've never really done much in Photoshop, especially with the layers tool (umm ok everything is brand new to me!), but I'm pretty happy with my progress so far. I'm certainly not savvy with Photoshop, but I think I'll just try and learn as I go. I'm so inspired with what I've seen in this community today - You guys are awesome! I know I've just barely scratched the surface and I still have a TON to learn. It was definitely not as easy as I thought it would be! There is still so much to learn, but at least it's fun so far!

Anyway....just wanted to introduce myself and let you all know how excited I am to see your work! Hopefully I'll learn some new tricks from you all, and be inspired!

6th-Feb-2009 12:30 am - OMG - Two in ONE Day!

I'm getting sick, and can't breathe, so I can't sleep. So, here I am, scrapping even though I have to work in the morning. I'm pathetic.

Anyway, layout here. It's a journaling layout, no pics.

3rd-Feb-2009 09:07 pm - Hello!
With the new year I've decided to delve further into LJ, mostly as a means of keeping myself motivated, and found this community. Just a little bit to introduce myself:

I'm Jeanne, a 28 year old mother of one, married. I work full time and go to school part time. In addition to digi-scrapping, I quilt, draw, write, and amuse myself on the web. My biggest goal this year is to catch up on scrapping my son's life. Thankfully, he's only fourteen months old, so I don't have thousands of pictures to go through.

Anyway, visit my LJ and LO here :)

1st-Jan-2009 09:06 am - January 2009 Challenge
digital crop
December is a month that for many is full of special occasions like the Holidays, parties, etc. My challenge for you this month is to scrap a photo that was taken during December, but was NOT taken at a holiday party or celebration. It could be some random thing a loved one did that made you grab the camera. It could be a snowstorm, a flower or even something you snapped with your camera phone.
Post your layout to the community with the tag "January 09 Challenge" (i can always add it if you forget). Let's see how everyone can challenge themselves and see what you can come up with!
28th-Dec-2008 10:20 am - other calendar
digital crop
Hi Everyone!
last week i posted the graphics of the Pet calendar i did. Then i totally slacked on the other calendars i had to do. after wondering if i'd ever finish i actually got them done, and got them printed in time to give as gifts for Christmas. Everyone loved them.
I'm only going to post the layouts for the one family calendar because for the last one i did i just completely took the photos out of the other layouts i had done and stuck in new photos because i literally had no time. Even on this one i lifted another layout from the pet calendar.
I also have pics of the final product printed from Staples in here so you can see how they turned out. they looked so good. i'm so pleased with how they turned out. i would definitely do this again and i'd definitely recommend sending them away to get printed, as i'm not sure how on earth i would have done it otherwise.

18th-Dec-2008 02:06 pm - my latest creations
digital crop
it's been a while since I've posted anything, and the group isn't as active as i'm sure we'd all like to see it. I'm hoping that with the holidays approaching we'll have some more members posting their memories and sharing what they've done recently with us.

I decided.. at the last minute, to create calendars for my family. 1 each for my mom & dad's sides and 1 for my inlaws. so with a week and a half until Christmas i decided to create 36 layouts when i haven't scrapped in months. uh. yeah. i've been working like crazy on them the past few days, and i have one calendar completed and sent off to be printed. It's for my inlaws since i only needed one of those calendars i got it done first so i can have it printed and see how it looks. the theme for it was the pets they've had over the years. They are big dog people and it seems that at any given time they have 3 dogs. they have only been in my life for 6 years yet i've known 5 of their dogs! that's a lot of pets! they just got a new puppy too, so i wanted to make this calendar to celebrate how much they love and have loved all their dogs.
layouts are under the cut obviously. there's 13, including one for the cover.

I just bought a brand new laptop and now I'm downloading all kinds of scrapbooking materials left and right. I was hoping everyone reading this would share with me how you keep your files organized and how you keep track of who makes what when you're crediting sources. I would really appreciate any suggestions because already my collection is starting to get a little out of hand.

i know this is a digital community but I know there are some hybrid scrappers and former paper scrappers on here...so bear with me, I just have one question....
How do you ink the edges of things without getting it all uneven and all over the middle parts of the letters, paper, etc?
I tried with terrible results and will not try again until I get some advice from you advanced inkers:)
