Dreamwidth Pimping (sorry)
If any of you are checking out Dreamwidth, there are several Who-related comms and feeds you might be interested in: Any or all of the comms might have moderated entry, but they've let me in so I don't see a prob with any of you lot... They have a limit on community creation at the moment, but anyone can create feeds. If you're active in any other fandoms you might want to check out my DW profile for lots of other comms and feeds :D ((X-posted lots of places, sorry)) Current Mood: busyCurrent Music: David Bowie - Velvet Goldmine [Single B-Side] [Ryko Edition Only] | Powered by Last.fm | | Friday, April 17th, 2009 | 12:41 am [the_roofdog]

Reactipoll 4.15
The reason for the fail on posting this is that I haven't actually seen the episode yet. So I won't be joining in the debate very vigorously. (Not that this ever stopped some of you...) Poll #1383328 Reacti-poll 4.15
Open to: All, detailed results viewable to: AllHow good did you think "Planet Of The Dead" was? What was the best bit? What was the worst bit? Where should the next series blow its location budget on? | | Sunday, April 12th, 2009 | 1:41 pm [dubdobdee]

Reactipoll 4.14!
Alright alright, at least I remembered to post it in the same YEAR as the programme was shown. Cast yr minds back SIX DAYS to "The Next Doctor" and consider these questions... Poll #1323322 Diggerdydum Reactipoll: Xmas 2008
Open to: All, detailed results viewable to: AllHow good did you THINK "The Next Doctor" was going to be? And how good did you think it actually WAS? Best bit? Worst bit? What were those hairy cyberthings anyway? | | Wednesday, December 17th, 2008 | 10:45 pm [jauntyalan]

What sort of men are they?
These aren't just ordinary men. [cue Groove Armada or Fleetwood Mac - it's your choice] These are finest Victorian cybernetic limbs, gently grafted over freshly flayed skin, emotions tenderly removed, eyes glazed (literally glazed with actual glass), trousers gently flared and with a hint of menace. This is not just a Christmas Invasion, this is an R T S christmas invasion. | 2:23 pm [freakytigger]

Whither Langford?
In the absence of any proper news, like "Reg Varney was going to be the 11th Doctor but now we'll have to go with Curly Watts out of Corrie" here is some rambling about classic series DVDs - which I have pretty much stopped buying because I've decided I can't be bothered spending my money on anything post-Hinchcliffe, to be honest (yes yes, most predictable Who fan ever, what of it). There are 86 out of 160 stories released now. The Silver Fox is by far the worst served (there are only 9 stories available on DVD and none in the pipeline) with McCoy being pretty badly represented as well (5 of 12 only if you include in-the-pipeline 'Battlefield'). The best represented Doctor on DVD is, of course, Fat Colin. Every Colin story is out on DVD except 'Attack Of The Cybermen' (the best one!) and 'The Twin Dilemma' (the, erm, not best one). Baker T is obviously well represented. What would you like to see out on DVD? I would like:
- The War Games
- The Ambassadors Of Death
- Terror Of The Autons
- The Dæmons
- Day Of The Daleks
- Terror Of The Zygons
- The Masque Of Mandragora
- The Black Grauniad Trilogy
...and how much do you think they'll be left with all the sh1t ones at the end like they were with the VHS releases (the only real stinkers they've released so far are Time-Flight and Timelash)? | | Thursday, November 6th, 2008 | 12:33 am [the_roofdog]

LUMP ON
ODDS ON NEW DOCTOR FROM PADDY POWER (3rd Nov 2008) 2/1 David Morrisey 6/1 Paterson Joseph 8/1 James Nesbitt, Chiwetel Ejiofor 10/1 Russell Tovey, John Simm 12/1 Anthony Head 14/1 Robert Carlyle, David Walliams 16/1 Richard E Grant 18/1 Richard Coyle, Aidan Gillen, Alan Davies, Sean Pertwee 20/1 Jason Statham, Harry Lloyd, Nigel Harman, Marc Warren, Jack Davenport 25/1 Julian Walsh, Adrian Lester, Alexander Armstrong 33/1 Julian Rhind-Tutt, Rupert Penry-Jones, James McAvoy 40/1 Bill Nighy, Stephen Fry, Ben Wishaw 50/1 John Barrowman, Ben Miles, David Suchet, Hugh Laurie 66/1 Gary Oldman, Matt Smith, Paul Bettany, Joel Beckett, Christopher Eccleston 80/1 Alex Kingston, Dean Lennox Kelly, Christopher Villiers 100/1 Ricky Gervais 150/1 Hugh Grant, Russell Brand, Vinnie Jones 200/1 Robbie Williams I'm hoping Paddy Power will run one of their money-back specials for this, like "If your actor appears as a possible past or future incarnation of the Doctor during a Time Lord mind-bending contest but does not subsequently regenerate into the 11th Doctor then Paddy refunds all bets". Please God let it not be Nesbitt. Does anybody remember when Ten Ants was officially announced in the role? Was it halfway through the Eccleston series? It's so long ago, when all this was just fields, etc. |
