I am making this post on my NEW MACBOOK OMG. Okay, it is "new to me". But still! Technically, it is my birthday present, or half of it is. I got it on ebay, and it works fine as far as I can tell, except there is a small crack in the bit that holds the screen in. That's purely cosmetic though.

And speaking of cosmetic it is sooo pretty! h0mg. It's so white and thin and light! I am really freaking amazed!! It is utterly lacking in the ten bajillion stickers that come on any Windows notebook. These keys I'm pressing right now, they're so petite and flat, and they come right up out of the computer, each in its own little hole. I also really like the battery cord! It's magnetic! What!

This is my first Mac, and I have to say I'm pleased. I like how easy it is to install things. One of the first things I did was download AIM (but none of you kids were on, hah) and it was really very easy... just drag this icon into your Applications folder. The only thing that's bothering me so far is the one-button mouse. I imagine it will take a bit of getting used to. I'm so used to right-clicking on things to open in new tab, when I checked my flist on this baby I was like.... "how do I open this? I can't open in new tab!" Ah well. I imagine I will figure it out. I do want a real mouse mouse though, I've always disliked laptop touchpads.

ooh there's a little light in the corner of the capslock key that comes on when capslock is on!!!! ahhh so great!!! It's the little things, you know?

I have been sitting here for over an hour trying to work up the balls to call in and quit my job. Or, well, it's not that I don't have the guts to do it, but I have to tamp down my pride that keeps insisting that I'm not a quitter and should see it through to the end -- if nothing else, because it's a little bit more money and a couple more references for my resume. Also, I keep reassuring myself that there is more time to make the decision; I can leave them hanging for one day more and maybe I'll get better and I don't have to call in today or if I call in and don't get anyone I can always try again Monday and so on and so forth. I haven't even called in to say I'm sick, because pride won't let me; pride knows that if I call in sick it will turn into calling in to quit.

Thus is the epic battle going on in my head. This health thing pits my self-preservation instinct against my ego, and usually the two are on the same page. It's actually incredibly confusing.

It doesn't help that random parts of my body keep falling asleep (last night it was my hand, this morning my foot) and that I'm going to be battling self-consciousness with bathing suits throughout vacation, despite the fact that the beaches are going to be awesome and well worth it.

That said, I completely forgot amidst all the chaos that I'm going to the John Mayer, Colbie Caillat, and Brett Dennen concert tonight! I'M SO EXCITED. Confused by why we have assigned seats when our tickets say "Lawn", but EXCITED ALL THE SAME. Ahhh and I forgot to email Brett to tell him we were coming. Guess I'm not getting backstage, but it'll be fun anyway.

It is growing very close to the deadline of when I need to eat breakfast and take meds -- which I have been putting off while I stare blankly at my phone and listen to the sounds of the fighting inside my head -- and since apparently I am not calling in to quit today, I think I should go do that. That, at least, pride and self-preservation can agree on.

On a different note, I read over my old sorting applications today and kind of went "bzuh? I sound so... optimistic, and hopeful, and... I don't even know!" Apparently I have become a cynic, more and more so every single day. Or hell, every single HOUR.

And I apologize in advance for being AWOL again today -- room still needs moar packing (seriously, how do we accumulate all this shit?) and essay still needs moar writing. And concert needs watching, which means tonight is out. But I may be in touch with some of you by phone. ♥

I just hope that the Super Junior Kink Meme continues to grow. I gotta concentrate on my PW kink meme prompts though.

Anyway, here I am again. Awake early. Blah.

In any case, I'm very determined to fill out some prompts. Even if I do suck (-kicked-) at writing buttsex! Even if it kills me! There are some that simply needs to be written and it seems the other anon only care about P/E (which isn't a bad thing) and not other pairings. Other pairings need love too! D:

Happening (Movie)
IMDB gives it 5.4 out of 10. T_T kevinsensei, I dunno, I don't think I want to watch this anymore. Waste of a good movie ticket, especially now that everything is so expensive.

Telephony
I don't know if this surprises anyone, but I'm horrible at telephones; I almost never talk on the phone unless it's business-related or I need to make some sort of arrangements quickly.  The one exception is when I talk to my mother, because she loves phones and can talk for ages--it's one-sided, really, but I love her so it's okay. ♥ But when Tim says he'll try to call me soon it makes me smile. It's really nice to know someone cares enough to try and call even though it's dead expensive calling long-distance, especially when he insists on using calling cards and not Skype! There's something almost charming about that.

Sleep
Ai, why do you persist in staying up? GO TO BED, tomorrow is a working day.

Air-conditioning
The air-con is at 26C and I'm wondering if I should turn it down to 25C before I turn in for the night. I'm worried I'll wake up if I don't, and I want my sleep.

Trains, Trains, Trains
The Seishun 18 Kippu (青春１８切符) has no age limit, and the last day one can possibly use one of those this summer is September 10; they expire at the end of the season. In the course of researching a rail trip (okay, I was looking at train passes for my new commute too), I began to wonder if super express trains (Wiki entry in Japanese) like the Odoriko qualify under the Seishun 18 Kippu. I hope they do--I have at least two friends heading to Nagoya in the very near future! This page has a lot of really useful information--I hope I remember to come back to it later.

I keep randomly laughing about how the only two people I gave my number to tonight were girls. One because I used to take care of her kids and she wants ideas for getting her daughter ready for kindergarten and the other one because she started hanging out with us at some point in the night and she was fun so we'll probably hang out with her again. Girls are more fun anyway!

In conclusion, men suck, girls are fun, comedy makes me laugh and whether you're at a comedy shoe or a Tony Lucca shoe, you should always be v. drink and enjoy the LNVE. Good night/morning/whatever.

Or maybe I've just gotten used to writing a lot. Or maybe detailed outlines are the awesomest things to ever be covered in awesomesauce. All I know is in the past two days I've written 9.500 words brining the word count of Azimuth to 19,500 in 7 days. this doesn't break my record still held by The Phoenix Crisis which, I believe, 20,000 words written in 3 days.

Still, I'm happy. I have 2 weeks until school starts again and I am a writing FIEND.

In other news, I need a Smallville icon. I just don't know which icon to delete to make room.
