dgficexchange@hotmail.comA fic exchange is when people fill a request for whatever elements they want or don't want to see in a piece of fanfiction - elements such as mood, characters, dialogue, and so on. Someone writes it for them and in return, their giftee also fulfils a fic for someone else. Basically, writers swap stories - thus it is a fic exchange. This particular exchange community focuses on the relationship between Draco Malfoy & Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter Universe created by JK Rowling. Genfic that explores their relationship or their friendship/hatred is perfectly fine. A romantic relationship is not a requirement. This is also an anonymous exchange, therfore, Authors will be revealed at the end, once all fics have been posted. Anyone who is participating in the exchange ought to read A Guide to Participating in Fic Exchanges, by Someone Who Knows by |
1. If you request a story, you must be able to fulfil someone else's request. 2. You do not have to be a Live Journal user to participate, but you do need a valid email address so we can contact you. And we will contact you... often. ;) 3. All fics should have a minimum word count of 1500 and a maximum word count of 25,000. All fics must be COMPLETE when sent to us -- no exceptions. Chaptered or multi-part fics are fine, but the fics must be COMPLETE upon the mods receiving it - so we want all the parts, people. 4. All fics should be emailed to the community email (dgficexchange@hotmail.com) in either Word format or .txt format. Remember to include this entire header. 5. Code your fic with the appropriate html tags, for example <b></b> and whatever else. If you send your fic in with Microsoft Word (which is fine), you still have to tag your work! Missing or broken html tags make stories look shoddy. Don't forget to Double check! ALSO - it is not necessary to place the <p>:</p> tags... just so you know because it will make your story unpostable until the mod physically fixes your tags. 6. Please have your fic spell-checked and beta-read. If you don't know what that is, find out quickly. Misspellings and grammatical errors take away from the enjoyment of a fic, and they're such little things to fix. One such correction that YOU are responsible for is the proper capitalization of Potter words. Here is a definitive list of such words from 7. All fics will be posted here, just for reference purposes. That way we don't have to deal with archives that like to go the way of the dodo during the exchange! But after the specific round's masterlist is compiled and posted, feel free to post the work everywhere and anywhere it's allowed! 8. To maintain anonymity, please do not post your fic anywhere else until after the revealing. After the revealing, go ahead and archive it anywhere you want. If you aren't sure where to archive, email us, and we'll point you in the right direction! 9. In order to request or write a fic rated NC-17 you must be at least 17 years of age. You can turn 17 the day before for all we care, but you must be 17 at the time of requesting/writing. |
