I have some questions in regard to the Daniel look in particular and the costume in general.

- Does Daniel wear the USAF patch?

- Does he ever carry the P-90, or just the Beretta? I've heard that Daniel usually carries the Beretta M92.

- Does he ever carry the extra magazines on a right leg holster?

- Are there some good frames that look like the glasses he wears?

- I have been looking at BDU belts; however, the green just does not look right to me at all. I've read from various costuming sites that it should be an olive drab BDU belt, but those belts really don't look olive drab to me. In fact, they look like they should clash.

- Is there any way you can get police type tactical boots that stay true to the costume that are non-leather? I am a vegetarian, and do not use animal products.

- Where can I find the correct tactical pistol holster?

- What do y'all think of this replica military jacket WEP I bought off eBay? It's new, made from poly-cotton, has an internal PDA pocket, and a standard lining. Color is like BDU PolyCotton Pants olive drab. Jacket is together with 3 patches + velcro for patches( hook site).

This year for Halloween, I want to be Daniel. I'm figuring I need to buy a Stargate SG-1 patch and a military looking name patch that says 'Jackson'. I've seen both on eBay, so I think I'm set there. What I'm not sure about is the rest of the costume. I'm guessing I should visit an army surplus store, or ask my college roommate if she can get the stuff for me at the Fort Jackson PX (she's in the South Carolina National Guard). Do they sell the jacket and pants like the SG-1 uniform? Is what they wear like what Air Force soldiers wear, or did they just make up those duds for the show? Also, I'll need to find reading glasses or something where I can pop out the frames. It'll likely take some looking around to find ones that look soooo Danielesque.

Any help on what I should get for the jacket and slacks would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I don't know if this has been mentioned here already. Michael Shanks performed an audio reading of the book Local Customs by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller. The audio book will come out some time this summer and will be available on http://www.buzzymultimedia.com. There's an article about it in the latest issue of the official Stargate SG-1 magazine, where he discusses the challenges and how hearing everybody tell him not to do it made him want to take on the challenge all the more.

What GIF animation programs does anyone use? How much did they cost and is there anywhere that I can find a free evalutaion version?

I used to have this picture of Michael Shanks at a convention (don't know which one) wearing a blue baseball cap (backwards), and light blue t-shirt (showing off those muscles), and light blue jeans.
