The semipermanent guys-- before we had Araide and Eisuke; this time we have Subaru. Given Araide and Eisuke were Conan's competition:

Were there theories about Subaru is actually on Ran? (OK, I know he's been less than proper towards Ai...)

Given Shinichi never existed, would Ran had loved any of them anyway?

I reread this case on CC#25. There's one thing that I haven't noticed in the Chinese versions that I have read before: Were the Tottori people actually speaking Kansai-ben in the original? Viz made them speak a Southern accent like Heiji's.

Head's up to fellow Kaitou Kid fanatics; episode 515 is a one hour special, "Kaitou Kid's Teleportation Magic". :3 Must be Files 631-634, no doubt. And....weird. We're getting Okiya versus Shin'ichi broadcast before this case. I just now noticed that. O_o;;

EDIT: Forgot to mention this doesn't air until October 20th. xD;; I do hope DCTP translates it quickly after it's aired... ^^;

Status of the CASE CLOSED Trademark

Shogakukan has sent to the USPTO (US Patent and Trademark Office) yesterday the specimens of use for two applications for the CASE CLOSED Trademark: One for "toy, namely, card games" (dropped all claims for other toys; uses the CC-TCG Premier set box as specimen); and one for comic books and science fictions, etc (uses outer cover of CC#1 and #22 manga as specimen).

Shogakukan already had US trademarks for the word CASE CLOSED for DVD and video games.

Question about sentencing in Japan

In a few anime originals (eg 71, 161) Kogoro and the murderer talked about "after you get out of prison"-- is that in Japan murder criminals don't receive that long of a sentence...?

Okay, after maybe a year of leaving the series alone, I come back all confused because I barely remember the most recent arcs. Would someone do me the big favor of answering my questions?

1.) When was Okiya Subaru introduced? Does he show up in any other chapters?
2.) When was his staying at Shinichi's house decided?
3.) Was there a previous discussions on his intentions/affiliation with the BO somewhere? ~~Link please or feel free to talk about some of your theories.~~
