Ages and ages and centuries ago, there was a kissing meme.

I'm not reopening it. >_> today.

But one of the results was two drabbles that crossed over Gundam Wing with FF7, and since then the idea's been at the back of my mind. I don't think I'm ever going to come up with an adequate plot that explains how the hell the Gboys ended up on the Planet, especially in pre-crazySephy times, but I like the idea of writing more floating scenes in that universe.

So give me a GW character, a FF7 character, a mood, and I'll try to write a little scene/snippet. Who knows, maybe a plot will grow out of it. Or maybe all the ficlets will contradict each other. It's all good.

I'm really enjoying being back into writing. And I'm still not sure if I'm going to participate in NaNoWriMo this year. While it's a great thing, I honestly work best without pressures of a deadline. If it starts feeling like an obligation, it stops being fun, and there's no point in me writing if it's not fun.

Partially through Chapter 3. This one's taking me the longest to do, mostly because I'm trying to acclimate myself to multiple perspectives. It's a challenge, but it's definitely a fun one. It's educational and entertaining at the same time!

I've got to get ready for work in a few minutes.  I get home late, so I thought I'd just go ahead and post.  I doodled a lot last night and today.  The only thing I really finished was a picture of Marluxia.  I just was curious what he might look like with his hair pulled back.  I resisted the siren's call of the silver sharpie and I think it turned out okay.  (Just a little messy.)  The blue all over is supposed to be sky, but I'm worried it just looks like he's been painting all day or something.  Oh well.  I can always fix the whole thing in photoshop later.

Aeris from FF7 (Crisis Core may admittedly butcher her. I have not played it.) is not a submissive, yielding ideal of Japanese femininity. No really. She's not. What part of "Tee hee, let's send Cloud to the gay brothel to get female clothing (including underwear) so he can dress up as a woman" strikes you as feminine? Okay, she's the healer. You know, I'm more than a little tired of that stereotype myself. But saying "She's girly and wears pink dresses and sells flowers and is the party healer, therefore she's weak and submissive" is more than a little sexist in its own right.

God, the Tifa/Aeris battles irritate me. Clearly we need more IC Tifa/Aeris porn.

This and this comment are the most disturbing things I've seen in a while. Holy fucking shit.

1. Yuna. Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy X-2
My absolutest. favorite. FF. character. evar. Unlike most people who completely ignore the story and underlying currents of FFX-2, I actually like FFX-2!Yuna better because she smiles more. Fo' serious. Her english-language voice actress irritates me more than the Aerith english-languages voice actresses do. To be fair, it's not entirely Hedy Burgess' fault, they made her pause in certain places that are really awkward. (But personally I also felt Hedy Burgess wasn't up to voicing a character like Yuna. Her voice work on FFX-2 Yuna improved, and KH2 Yuna far improved, something that, while I can't completely discredit Burgess' personal improvement and experience, I mostly attribute to Yuna's more carefree attitude in the last two games as opposed to the burdened Yuna of FFX.) I'm actually not entirely sure why Yuna is so alluring to me. Is it her quiet strength? Her burdened smile? Her struggles to remind herself she can have fun now, that it isn't about everyone else anymore? Her growth through the games (at the end of FFX, she sacrificed the aeons, she sacrificed Tidus. At the end of FFX-2, she says it wasn't worth it. I actually forgave Burgess ~80% because she delivered this piece of dialogue quite well in English)? There are so many reasons, some of which I can't even articulate. 8D;;;

2. Mutou Yugi. Yugioh: Duel Monsters
Cute. Sweet. Does not have a mean bone in his body. He actually creeps me out a little because HE'S SO LOVE-ALL ALL THE TIME. OTL His strength and courage often gets overlooked because of his cute image, I think. Kazuki Takahashi's distinguish between the two of them by way of the Battle Ceremony was great, IMO.

3. Yue. Avatar: The Last Airbender
"My girlfriend turned into the moon." As funny as that line is, her circmstances are sad. In many ways, she resembles a deus ex machina, something constructed by the writers as a device to set things right again. I mean, what are the chances? The moon dies. Yue, blessed by the moon and posessing her powers, becomes the moon herself. DUES EX MACHINA. But on the other hand, the writers humanise Yue a lot, so that even though she, in essence, was conjured up as a plot device, she is also very much a character in her own right. This is especialy prevalent because Sokka mourns her, mentions her a lot (often in places you don't expect her to pop up: "But why would Yue need Appa for? She's the moon, she can fly by herself"), carries his burden of her loss into his life (as evidenced by his spazzing over Suki when they were crossing the treacherous mountain trail thingy). He is affected by her 'death', and in that way she is not a mere device that was only there for four episodes and then forgotten.

4. Yuri. Kamen Rider Kiva.
Can fight. Does a mean double-team with Jiro. Got her heart broken. Ironic circumstances (but then again, every relationship in Kiva is ironic. 8D;;) I loved her laugh after she defeated Rook and the boys were fighting to congratulate her. xD (Also, Ramon called her 'neechan!' That alone was epic :DDDDD, srsly. 8D)

5. Kato Yue. Angel Sanctuary.
I ended up liking this dude a lot. He dies thrice, man. DDDx His circumstances confuse me a little. After he died before the doors of Etenemanki, Kaori Yuki says in the endnote that Kato goes to Heaven? But wasn't he in Heaven when he died? Is there a place human spirits go when they die in Heaven? :O I thought his soul was destroyed or something. Although I actually am glad he gets to come back and bug the hell out of Lucifer who he will call "Kira" no matter how much he is threatened. :D ~gets punched~

Would do homework but am reading The Rules of the Heart. Will get on it as soon as I am done. Dearly hope Nick will stop being a jerk.
