Community Profile

Design In Motion is a layout rating community. Once you are accepted, you continue to re-apply with all new layouts. If you reach three rejected layouts, you must re-apply to be a voting member. Screenshots are taken of all accepted layouts, and put beside your username as a tally. People with the most accepted layouts are farther up on the member's list.

What can be rated:
Your personal journal has to be rated in the initial application. Every new layout you create for your personal journal must also be rated. After you are an accepted member, if you FEEL like getting other layouts you've made rated, you may. However, if your layouts aren't up to par you run the risk of hitting your three strikes sooner. On the other hand, this could increase your chances of being one of the top members. This means, if you are an accepted member and you wish to get a community's layout you created voted on, you may. Got it? This sounds like a good idea right now. If we have people abusing it or it turns out to be a bad idea, we'll become strictly a personal journal rating community.

First time applicant: New - Application
Accepted member with new layout: Member - New Layout
Member re-applying after their third rejected layout: Old Member - Re-applying

Only accepted members can vote.

Do not change your layout during the middle of an application or you will be banned

Voting Criteria:
Originality - Creativity and flare
Graphics - Image compression, quality, editting
Design - Color schemes and overall look.
Organization - Userfriendly links, sidebars, entry area
Code - Cross-browser/resolution compatible
Technical - Uneven alignments, unnecessary scrollbars, ect.
Credit - Visible credit if it is needed.

When Voting:
Be honest! Do not vote high out of kindness because you like someone here. That's not helping the designer at all. Be honest. Also don't vote someone low because you think they're taking your number one spot. Please give a reason why. It doesn't have to be a breakdown on every one of our voting criteria (although that would be nice) but please list some reasons for your vote.

1 - 10
8 or better is accepted. No rounding. Decimals ARE allowed.

**When picking a layout you like most and least, only use accepted layouts, accepted member's live layouts, or mod's layouts. Do not randomly pick people applying. The reason for the 'opinions' section, is so we are able to see how well you are able to give critiques if you are an accepted member.**
