[ July 19th, 2008 at 8:10pm] novalee17 [ mood | impressed ] did you know that in 1938 there was a radio special for Helloween based on The War Of The Worlds? well, yes, that's not very interesting in the first place, but the important point is that people thought it was for real. many people believed that a real martian invasion was happening... some even tried to flee read more about it on wikipedia or download the broadcats itself i find it quite hard to understand, but it is indeed quite creepy. maybe you all already know about this ;D but i thought it was very interesting... and frightening, kind of. errrm, nothing else to tell... ;D but i sorted out some old stuff because my mother made me to do so ;P and i found some interesting stuff... for example my first Chucks that i had when i was... don't know, 7? they have dinosaures on them lol maybe i'll post about that later or tomorrow or... dunno ;D

POTC Scores [ July 19th, 2008 at 7:33pm] sepira [ mood | drained ] [ music | All these ] I've some goodies to share with you all. :) I always let the credits of the POTC movies play through when I watch them because I enjoy hearing the scores joined up rather than split into the tracks of the soundtracks, and I'm sure you guys do too. So I had the inspiration to extract the credit chapters from the DVDs and convert them to MP3 files. Here are download links for them. Unfortunately, the CotBP file is just over box.net's 10MB limit, but if you want it I can send it via Y!M. The CotBP one includes Jack's final lines too, and the 'Easter Egg' additional scenes have been cut from all three. I also want to grab the piece that plays as Jack, Liz and Norrie walk up Isla Cruces and dig up the Chest, since it doesn't appear on the regular soundtrack at all. It's because no one else wants what I want. Yes I will admit I miss being in one; I'm not gonna lie. But as soon as I'm in one, I want out. There's only one guy I want and he just won't deal with it anymore with me. It hurts me like none other but maybe one day I'll cope. That's why I hate being around my friends who have a bf or gf. It just irks me. And I don't want those sad feelings I've tried so hard to bury all dug up again....

How About a Magic Trick? [ July 18th, 2008 at 7:04pm] secondhand801 [ mood | bouncy ] Oh how I wish I could give The Dark Knight the praise it deserves, but alas, I cannot. The movie left me completely speechless. The imagery was beautiful, the acting was superb, and the writing was memorable. They didn't do a single thing wrong with this movie. I could have watched it for another two and a half hours. Heath Ledger's performance was absolutely flawless. It wasn't Heath Ledger playing a character on screen.. it WAS the Joker. The man became a wave of insanity. It's sad that he had to go so soon. His immense talent was obvious, even to someone like me, someone who wasn't really familiar with all of his work. I saw Lords of Dogtown and really enjoyed it. That was another role he completely disappeared in. I didn't know it was him until the credits. The Brothers Grimm wasn't a terrible movie, either. He played a great part in it. The Dark Knight, though... that was the role that really blew me away. Everyone clapped when the dedication came up in the credits. The applause was well-earned. Going at six in the morning was beyond worth it. There weren't any annoying people in the audience. IMAX is awesome. I got to enjoy it with my best friends and the greatest guy in the universe. Next is The Cab and The Hush Sound on Sunday. YES!

Graphic Recording Certificate [ July 18th, 2008 at 7:17pm] honoriartist Today I earned my certificate for the Basic Graphic Recording Workshop with VizThink Austin facilitators.  It was an exciting day of learning new skills, honing old skills, and practicing on a full 8-foot large scale with professional recording tools rather than my on-hand art supplies.  The diverse group of participants ranged from social activists to a university professor and her research assistants.
