Some irregular verbs can also be regular like: saugen, spalten, triefen etc.
Are you likely to use the irregular form or the regular?

Meine Frage ist nicht besonders denglish, aber vielleicht mögt ihr mir ja trotzdem helfen:
Heißt es:
Sie lehrt Frauen, Kinder und Jugendliche seit 1989 den orientalischen Tanz.
oder:
Sie lehrt Frauen, Kindern und Jugendlichen seit 1989 den orientalischen Tanz.
?
Ich persönlich würde die zweite Variante gebrauchen, kann es aber grammatisch nicht begründen.
Mögt ihr mir da vielleicht helfen? Und vor allem erklären, warum welche Variante so sein muss, wie sie ist? Mir lässt das echt keine Ruhe. Hülfä!

I've not heard of (bandname).
I'm not sure if it'd be a literal translation, or...

I'm trying to organize an apartment to rent in Trier in Germany and this is an email I just got. I'm having a problem just understanding exactly what the second last line means
Grundsätzlich wäre die Eigentümerin mit zwei Personen in diesem App.
einverstanden. Könnten Sie mir bitte noch mitteilen, ob Sie an die Uni oder
FH kommen? Dieses App. hat eine große Schlafcouch, die als Doppelbett zu
nutzen wäre. Das App. ist wirklich so eingerichtet wie eine Ferienwohnung.
Allerdings ist die Anmietung Ende September zu spät, da der Wohnraum in
Trier, gerade ordentliche komplett möblierte App. sehr knapp ist. Eine
Anmietung müsste schon zum 01.08.09 wie auch in der Anzeige steht erfolgen.
Bei Rückfragen stehe ich Ihnen gerne zur Verfügung.

Meine Frage ist ein wenig off-topic, hoffe aber doch, dass ihr mir helfen könnt! Diesen Sommer fahre ich zum dritten Mal nach Wien. Ich habe mich schon total in der Stadt verliebt, aber ich denke, dass ich jetzt die meisten Highlights der Stadt gesehen habe. Ich möchte gerne wissen, ob es vielleicht auch unbekannteren Sachen gibt, die man unbedingt sehen muss. Also, Ausstellungen, Buchhandlungen, Kunst, Geschichte, Theater, Natur... Das alles interessiert mich, aber anderen Tipps wären auch sehr nett. Danke im Voraus!

Hello All! One of the ways that I learned to speak German was by watching Verbotene Liebe. I recently became nostalgic and wanted to watch some old episodes, so I tried to buy whole series online (amazon.de) but the series doesn't seem to be available on DVD. I looked at http://www.daserste.de/verboteneliebe/ as well, because I thought someone said you could find old episodes there, but from what I can find they are only short segments (20-30 seconds) with a recap of each episode. I also looked on youtube and couldn't find anything.... So, my question is - anyone have any idea where I can find all of Verbotene Liebe? From the first season to today? I would prefer DVD (any region) or a downloadable version that I can watch on my iPod, but anything would work....
Second question - I found Turkish fuer anfaenger at Amazon.de, but am wondering if there are downloadable versions anywhere that I can watch on my iPod. I found some on youtube, but can't figure out how to download them to my iPod.
Can anyone help?

The wiki admins are based in the UK, and the overwhelming majority of contributors are English speakers living in predominantly English-speaking countries. This, obviously, leaves out a huge percentage of the world population. While we have managed to translate a small handful of pages into French or German or Italian or Spanish, the majority of pages remain untranslated, and obviously there are many other languages that haven't been introduced at all.
If you can help at all, whether by translating one very short page or a huge amount of content, or by checking the existing translated pages for translation errors, the community will benefit hugely, and those of us who would love to translate but aren't able to will be forever grateful!

Hallo, alle!
I'm going to Germany for the first time (and leaving the US for the first time) on the 25th, and I'll be staying with a host family. I'll be in Bavaria, in Burglengenfeld.
Mostly, I was wondering about the dialects of the region. Naturally, I've only really been exposed to High German, and I was wondering if the different dialects will throw me off too much. Are they really that much different from Hoch Deutsch? Does anyone know which type of German is spoken in the Burglengenfeld area, specifically?
Also, any advice any of you have about living with a host family would be quite helpful. Or staying in another country, or traditions, or whatever you feel I should know.

Hallo!
My brother and his wife and 4y/o are heading to Freiberg for a week (for a work trip - still lucky, I wish I could go!) in the middle of July.
Does anyone have any advice on things to do / see while they are there? Even things such as favorite restaurants would be super helpful. They've never been to Germany before, and will be staying mostly in the vicinity of Freiberg - they want to make the most of their time there, and asked for my advice.

- If I have a seperable verb, do I put the seperable bit before an infinitive zu-clause? (e.g. Er faengt das Spiel an zu spielen.)
- Can I say: "and this means that..." (referring to implications rather than a definition) - "und das meint, dass..."
- Character development - Der Entwickeln der Figuren
- to reveal (information) - offenlegen?
