I'm sorry sorry, but I just
Don't need this shit!
It's nothing personal but
I just don't need it!

I don't dig drama, momma
I thought you knew about that.
I didn't think you liked it
either, but I guess I was wrong.

YOU ACT, AND I REACT! OH MY!

You make me clumbsy, clumbsy
Until I can't stand anymore
But I need to stand
Because that's what legs are for.
I'm dizzy dizzy, and why do I
need that?
I don't; you see, thats what
I'm getting at.

YOU ACT AND I REACT!

I'm sorry sorry but I'm sure
I'll be your friend
But I am afraid that I
Just don't know when
I'm not mad anymore
But still when I think
about you and him...
I sorta feel like
throwing up!

Since I can't decide what the hell I want it's probably best to just set the money aside for now. Who knows what Volks will release next or what the Libra doll from Soom will look like? Best to wait and see and continue to just focus on Lark instead for now.

Anyway. WILL THE AVATAR SEASON FINALE PLEASE START. FUCKING SPONGEBOB I HATE YOU.

I did not use the available time last night to make a post in my journal, so now I have to squeeze out a quick note while I eat dinner before I head out to a party at a friend's house.

Dad had another short hospital stay a few weeks ago, while they determined that the pain he'd been having in his knee was caused by an infection in the bone. He's now on an antibiotics treatment as an outpatient, and hopefully it'll all be cleared up in a few weeks.

I had another several-day bout of bodyaches and whatnot that led to me visiting the doctor yet again, and yet again determining that it was stress and anxiety. We did an EKG just in case and the doctor said it was the best EKG result he'd ever seen. So I really have to learn to chill out. This time I agreed to try out a prescription for a "rescue" medicine (lorazepam, if you know about these things) to take when I'm undergoing the aches and anxiety in order to help me calm down. We'll see if that helps. I tried one that night before going to bed, as the symptoms hadn't fully gone away yet, and I did feel more relaxed and the aches were gone the next day.

Meanwhile, this afternoon Nimiel started her repetitive litterbox visit behavior that she's suffered from before. Her box was due to be cleaned this weekend so I made sure to do that, and I'm hoping that maybe she'll chill out too and not need a vet visit and medication.

In more positive stuff, work's been good so far this summer. I finally am for real clearing out my credit card debt, it'll be paid off next month. I'm hoping maybe I'll be able to do the next step of the dental work in the fall, maybe November. Also next month, my sister Andrea and her girlfriend Jen are coming to visit, and in September my brother Jeremy's coming for his first visit.

Finally, in concert news I've decided to go to Bumbershoot this year. Saturday, Beehive and Mono In VCF are playing; Sunday, Sons and Daughters are back; and Monday, Battles are back. Those are all good enough reasons to attend. Kinski is also playing at Bumbershoot Saturday night, but Freezepop are going to be in town for PAX on Friday and will be playing a club show on Saturday, so I'll go see them instead.

And I'm done dinner and it's time to head out to the party.

p.s. I tried out swing dancing last week with my friend Dawn. Getting the timing right for the super-basic step is surprisingly tricky. I intend to sign up for a short class that Dawn's also taking, starting next week, although I think I have a conflict that will make me miss at least one class.

I might have mentioned this before, but now I can illustrate. Below is the graph of my rank on the Go server I usually play on.

Notice anything unusual? Or perhaps I should say usual?

Although it's not obvious at first due to the irregularity of the graph, it appears to have a 6 month period. Peaks and Troughs are about 3 months away from each other, and the pattern repeats every six months. I should start saving screen captures of these rank graphs every year so I can have a record of how it changes over greater spans of time than one year.

So, the Aren sold which is a nice surprise. Just got to give her a faceup and then ship her off.

Now to figure out what I want to do with the funds. I don't want to use them for bills since she was a present, so I'd rather buy something else with the money. (And I can use my own money for bills, especially since I don't have to pay rent for now so I'll have extra free money every month).

So I'm thinking either SD13 Sch A guy or a Notdoll Ligaya since the 40% sale still seems to be on. Probably more Sch A though. The only thing stopping me though is that the thought of buying clothes + accessories in an all new size makes me want to screeeeam. I dunno if I should maybe start buying clothes and stuff first and then get the doll or what?

Probably just going to put the money into savings for now and figure it all out later.

"Tall" does NOT mean "Small". It. Does. Not. Stop making that wonr out fucking joke, it was dead when Foamy made it, now it's rotted and smelling. Leave. It. Be. See, "Tall" actually means "Tall". AS opposed to the smaller "Short". Just because you didn't know it was there doesn't mean it isn't. And "Grande" means "Large", not "Medium". Believe me, we know, and it's true. Because we created "Grande" when "Tall" wasn't enough for you goddamn addicts. "Venti", by the by, is not a fucking "Made up word". It means "Twenty", the size of the goddamn drink–twenty ounces. It was the response to people wanting "Larger than Large". Because Americans know they aren't interesting (or funny), and so must settle for being over-caffeinated.

Now drop this goddamn joke or I will leap across this fucking bar and strangle you with my apron and shit in your eyes.

I think I'm at a crossroads in my life but it's weird and stuff and not very complicated, which is really throwing me off.

In other news I have a crush on one of my co-workers. Nevermind that he's not especially bright and kinda fat. Not that there's anything wrong with a big man, and I'm not usually attracted to skinny guys I'm just not attracted to guys like him I don't know.

I also think I like my job. Which is weird cause it's filthy commoner stuff. But it gives me laughs and monies.

I also think I might be starting to get happy or something. Or maybe I'm just distracted.

We went out for Korean on Wednesday. It was good and I'm more skilled with chop sticks than I thought I was. I'm also more tolerant of hard liquer than I remember. I didn't even pull my argh this burns face. There was fizzy rice wine. Like champagne only made with rice and not from France. We mixed it with the hard stuff and it put smiles on our faces. I think the hard stuff was called soy dew? I don't know I can't understand half the things he says.

Sometimes I think I want a sugar daddy. But I'm not really attracted physically to older men but I am on a non-physical level. Actually I am attracted to odler men rather than men my age but I don't mean the getting wrinkles and bald old. It's probably cause I don't like spending my own money but have no problem spending other's. and it's not that I don't want to work cause I'd still work, I just want to also have access to massive amounts of funds. And every time I've gone to a gay bar atleast one older man has hit on me, and purchased drinks for me. I could totally do it.

I think I used to attempt to put wit into these.

I should totally make this a visual diary.

Hamlet observations

Jul. 19th, 2008 | 10:04 am

In the last three days, I have:

- read the manga version of Hamlet (courtesy of [info]dakegra)
- watched the Kenneth Branagh Hamlet
- read the play, in the No Fear Shakespeare version (the original next next to a "translation" into modern English, mostly quite good but occasionally full of crap*)
- written Hamlet fanfic

Ahahahaha one can never have too much Hamlet.

But I had this observation when I watched the movie the other night, specifically the scene where the queen tells of Ophelia's death:

WTF, Gertrude, were you WATCHING?

Okay, I know, narrative device. It's a play, so if somebody doesn't tell you, you won't know it happened. But seriously, woman. These are minute details noticed over a long span of time. Maybe if you had enough time to enumerate what kind of flowers she was weaving into garlands and the precise lack of distress on her face, you could have, you know, stopped her from drowning herself or something.

I think my revelation was due mostly to the chilling nonchalance with which Julie Christie delivers this scene. She tells Laertes about his sister drowning with about as much regret as she might say "Oh, I know you had your heart set on having roast beef for lunch, but all we have is ham. Sorry about that."

*The first offense I noticed in the "translation" of the No Fear Shakespeare Hamlet is that when Horatio first comes in and Hamlet says "Horatio! -- Or I do forget myself." it's translated as "Horatio? That is your name, right?"

*sputters*

You do realize, right, that Horatio is the only person Hamlet trusts out of everyone he knows? Generally you don't forget someone's name when you sign letters to them "he that thou knowest thine." Not to mention the whole "wearing you in my heart's core" business. I far prefer Kenneth Branagh's interpretation, which I took as "I'd be more likely to forget who I am than who you are!"

In other news, [info]caitirin has sucked me into playing in an anime trading card LJ with her ^_^ I'm collecting cards of the Count from The Count of Monte Cristo. Hakushakuuuu! *swoon*

I read about this thing called Project: Rooftop on somebody's livejournal. They run contests where people submit costume redesigns for various superheroes. The last one they did was for Superman. It didn't occur to me at the time to do a submission, but then yesterday I got an idea, so I was like, why not draw it anyway?

The idea is to combine both aspects of Superman (Superman/Clark Kent) into one -- the power of Superman! the wienerness of Clark Kent! I bet this could've won. As long as I'm on the subject of superheroes, I really want to go see The Dark Knight, but I dunno if I shouldn't try to see it in IMAX rather than at a regular theatre. I bet it's RAD. I remember when I saw Superman Returns and was pretty disappointed. I think the problem is that the first Superman really hit the mark, and there's just no "updating" or reimagining the idea of Superman. You could in theory make the focus his being an alien and alone in the world, for example, but it's absurd -- who can see Superman as a tragic figure, really? How could Superman ever think anything other than, "It is so fucking SWEET to be Superman!"

p.s. One of the judges on that Project Rooftop thing complemented an artist for designing a costume without the underwear on the outside, but I think that's ridiculous. What the hell's even the point of being a superhero if you CAN'T wear your underwear on the outside??

...Just read up about the 7 white lions born by two different mothers on the same day over in Europe.

>.>

Is it really bad when the first thing that comes to my mind is "...are we sure this isn't a sign or portent of some kind? Like kin-lions of the seven heavenly virtues or something?"

I realize this is probably nonsense...but nonsense calls to me. and this is pondersome.

In other news... don't expect me online this coming saturday. I've found out I've been scheduled to do banquet catering for a wedding.

... It should be noted that I also found out that the same day I'm for banquet...

...There are 3 weddings scheduled for that day.

Over-time and a half.
