Where is a good place to get cases? Dont say eBay as there are none.

Is there a remote for the 30 and if so where may i procure one?

Oct. 1st, 2006 @ 04:49 pm I need Cables/a Dock!
Current Mood: Extremely melancholy
Playing on my DJ: None; I need my DJ back!
I am a satisfied Dell DJ user with a minor problem on my hands. My Gen2 DJ has been working perfectly for the last year, but my kid brother borrowed my sync cable (because he lost his) and then didn't return it. Apparently, he lost mine, too. This is extremely unfortunate because now I can neither charge my DJ (because the charger cord must plug into the sync cable in order for the DJ to charge) nor add music to it.

Could anybody sell me some cords, cables, or a dock so I can listen to my music again?

Sep. 22nd, 2006 @ 12:03 am Dell DJ for sale!
Would anyone be interested, or know someone who is interested, in buying a Dell DJ? I bought this thing on ebay but it just isn't what I really want. All I know about it is that it's a 15gb and it has a low battery and needs a charger. When I first got it, I was able to play it for just a tiny little while and it has excellent sound quality. I was even able to download the software and put my own songs on it without any problems. It shows signs of use with some scuff marks on it, but everything is in tact. It's just a little too heavy for what I wanted and I really need the money.

I was hoping to sell it for like $65. I tried putting it back on ebay but I don't know anything about that site so nothing worked out for me. If anyone is interested or even has any advice as to where I could sell it or ebay or anything at all, I would really appreciate it. Like I said, it's a really good player and in good shape. It works excellent and all buttons and such are completely in tact. The only problem is that it has a low battery but I don't have a charger. Comment here or send me an email at smoked_out_eyes@hotmail.com

Thanks.

Okay something weird is going on with my 20 gig. I think the batteries ran out, so I charged it, right? Well now, I'll push the power button, and the blue power light will turn on, but nothing will come up on the screen so I can't listen to anything on it. Anyone know what to do?

Being the idiot that I am, I broke my freaking DJ. I have a gen 1 15 gig, but that doesn't really matter. The back side of the casing was coming off, so I pulled it off in hopes that I could put it back on better. But I ended up breaking the damn thing so it doesn't work anymore. I want to send it in to Dell so that they can fix it, even though it's out of warranty, and just pay for it. But I can't find where to send it anywhere on Dell's site.

Help?

So I got a DJ instead of an iPod for my birthday. I was okay at first because I thought the DJ was just cheaper, but it turns out my 30G DJ is the same price as the new generation 30G iPod. ALL my music is in AAC format on iTunes. Only about 100 of my 1600 songs were purchased from iTunes. What's the best way for me to get all my music onto my DJ? Or should I just ask my parents if I can trade it in? Thanks, lol.

Nov. 5th, 2005 @ 11:48 am Dell DJ Ditty?
Current Mood: curious
Does anyone have the new "Ditty"? I've wanted an MP3 player forever now and I think I'll finally be able to get one for Christmas, but I don't know which one to get.

I don't want one that costs an arm and a leg, I don't need one that holds a million songs, and I don't see what the big deal is about the iPods. So I was thinking about the Pocket DJ because well I love Dell, then they came out with the Ditty, and I think that 220 or however many songs would be sufficient for me, I'll just use it to and from school, during school when I can get away with it, and sometimes at home or when I'm on a trip or something. Plus it has Pink Accessories (Pink earbuds, case, armband, cap, etc...)Plus it has an FM tuner, But since it's new I don't really know if it'd be worth it or whatever...

So I was wondering if any of you had it and could give me advice? Or just your general experience with Dell MP3 players etc...

Also, how is the MusicMatch or Napster to Go?(since that's what the Ditty is compatible with)

I have a dell DJ 15GB and I love it. It took me a while to like it, but honestly, it can hold more than the ipods at the same price, and it can do pretty the same thing they do. It can do voice recordings, and while it might take a while to put stuff in it, I don't know if it is any slower than the ipod takes. I am also able to put podcasts in it from itunes, which is cool. Now if only I could figure out how to make wma files into mp3s I would be set! Oh, another great feature of the Dell that I use is that I play it through my van stereo with the fm adapter thingy. I bought rechargeable batteries to use in the adapter and have not had to change them yet. Oh, you can also put books on CD in the dell.

So I said, screw the iPod...

I love my Dell DJ but I do love the iPod headphones because they fit better in my ears. The Dell earbuds hurt for some reason, I think because they're oddly shaped. But anyways, to match the iPod headphones, I wanted to get the CLEAR jam jacket from delldj.com. Does anyone have it and does it not change the color of the dj? Because the picture on the website is very misleading.

I am a generation one user and I'm starting to have problems with my dell dj. Today, I imported a few CDs and had about 30 songs to put on my dj. It said "May not fit" which is odd because I only have 760 or so songs on it and it SAYS I have 16262 MB of free space. I have the insurance on it and will turn it in within a few weeks if it doesn't work. Muse really wants to be on my dj. Anybody else have this problem?

Playing on my DJ: snow patrol - gleaming auction
Hola! I'm new to the community and I've had my Dell DJ 20 for about 3 weeks. I was wondering if any of you had problems with the labeling on the back where it says "20 GB" and all the other info? Mine scratches off easily. Anyone experience the same?

Hey, I have a new Dell DJ and I love it! Anyways I have a question.

Right now I have a blue rubber skin casing and I really dont like it because it just collects a lot of dust. Do you know of any websites for different kinds of cases for the new DJ version? Thanks a lot.

Oh also, is there a way to change what the songs names are once they are in your library?

After my DJ 20 Gen 1 had been going downhill in performance (freezing all the time) I emailed Dell about it and their solution was to send me a new DJ. Yay! I'm actually bummed because I love my DJ and how long its battery lasted. Le sigh. It also sucks because I *just* bought a new Action Jacket which won't work for the new DJ, boo.

Any comments on the quality of the new DJs?

Yesterday I received my Dell DJ! :D To think I received it already after ordering it on a Saturday! I got it for $224, shortly after they raised it from $212 (do'h! Thats what I get for being a careful shopper :( ) and shortly before they raised it up to $249. I spent most of last nite loading up 13 albums...now I still have like 140 left to go. :(

I'm curious as to what method most people use for ripping/sending their cds? I hate MusicMatch so I never installed it. Personally I rip my cds thru Winamp Pro, which takes ~8minutes, then just right click the folder and send to my DJ.

Now I must search for a good carrying case to use while at the gym. =\ I wasn't sure about the Belkin models because of the Generation 2 vs 1 issue, and Dell's site sucks in descriptions, etc. Need at least a belt clip and maybe an arm band, but don't really wanna spend more than $25.

Sep. 19th, 2004 @ 05:24 pm rumours
There's a rumour that a new dell dj will be coming out this fall. Since that will mark the one year anniversary of the Dell, I'm not surprised to hear they're coming out with a new one. If you haven't bought one yet, you might want to hold off for a little bit. First, the current Dell 15/20's will probably be available on E-bay pretty soon. The refurbished ones sold by Dell will probably really drop in price. Or you may just want to get the latest and greatest.

If you can't wait, I don't blame you, I couldn't either :)

Sep. 10th, 2004 @ 10:18 pm would you like some music with your burger?
I have to admit that normally, I do not eat fast food burgers. I'm more of a fast food burrito type. But someone bought me lunch the other day from Burger King, so I got a Whopper. It turns out that on the wrapper was a free code to download a song from their website.

Cool! (Or as their wrapper says "Burger King Rocks".)
