William Shakespeare, Lewis Carroll, and all those other authors are rolling in their graves. In fact, they've hopped out of their graves in order to slaughter those who defile their work in such a way. They've labelled themselves the Skeleton Brigade.
Once the slaughter is finished they will return to their graves knowing that the world is now a better place.

On a more serious note: are they even allowed to do this? I guess all these books are in the public domain, but it just seems so ... WRONG. There should be some law against doing this, and doing this to CLASSIC works of literature. It's like Lit Rape or something. I can't imagine that none of these works are protected by copyright anymore. That doesn't seem right! They ought to be. *cries bitterly*

That's a fair question. Well, Shakespeare is definitely public domain, so there's no copyright there, and I think most of the others are old enough...

But isn't Wizard of Oz still copyrighted? I thought it was, and I can't imagine them getting permission for this...
