yesterday i went dorm shopping with chris. i spent $150, then i bought some chinese food for $5, and i bought our tickets to see the dark knight for $18. i never spend any of my money but it was a good day. he spent $360 or something like that... i would have died if i spent that much money. but oh well. i bought a lot of stuff on sale and i also DIDN'T buy a lot of stuff. the things i bought were things i really did need. i decided i'm going to have them remove my dresser and i'm going to use my stacking crate things (i have like 7 of them and 2 others that are different and don't connect) and put like jeans, pajamas, t-shirts, etc in them, and i bought 2 little plastic baskets in lime green and red for socks and underwear. everything else can go in my closet and i'm going to just put my shoes at the bottom of the closet. and probably put sweaters or whatever on the upper shelves of the closet. i have a 3-drawer rolly cart storage thing for like personal products and probably my 2 bowls/2 plates and other food-related stuff, like my 4 microwave dishes. yeah. it's going to kiss ass and i can't wait to get there. laurie is the coolest person ever, i don't even care about the other 4 because they're not my roommates anymore!

Everyone please take this poll.
Poll #1230020 JP's trip
Open to: All, detailed results viewable to: All

What should JP do early August??

View Answers

Go to Florida and see you HUUUsband Brandon Heath, the coolest man ever tobyMac, and Rush of Fools whom you love, plus others you really like. Who cares if this will be your first ever WDW trip and wont get to enjoy it.
0 (0.0%)

Go to Washington and see your Backstreet Boys. You love your Boys and haven't seen them at all this year, plus, you'll be in good company with friends.
0 (0.0%)

Stay here and see Dragon Gate. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity; you'll never go to Japan to see them. Plus, the card looks good so far and you'll kick yourself for missing it. And hey, you'll save a ton of money since it will be right next door.
0 (0.0%)

Don't do anything early August, don't go to the "Music Builds" concert (so no Switchfoot). Instead, go to Georgia in late August, see your favorite cousins, and see Josh Gracin while you'r out there. And hey, you might get your surprize then.

If everyone could take this poll, I would love your for ever as it will help me decide what to do. Comment son your choice will be greatly aprpeciated.

so i guess that instead of being in a four-person suite with a common room, there are now 2 people living in the common room! so me and laurie have to walk through their room to get to our room :/ it sort of sucks. but, oh well.

so much redness
jess tells me yesterday's degrassi was epic. damn it. i'll have to watch it on the-n.com later. but aaanyway...

i dont think you realize how really difficult it is to not get your red hair on everything in a white bathroom. just like...the hair fallilng out when you brush it and it goes on the counter and it stains and UGH.

so i cleaned the bathroom today lol. its still a little on the pink side in some spots, but its hardly noticable and it will go away in another cleaning or two.

so we're going to the family reunion in about a half an hour. i hope theres something edible there and not any more pigs feet. =/ grooossssss. i fe-ruse! [[that's 'refuse' for the dim-ish. and i mean that lovingly].

okay. my father is talking to my mom on the phone behind me so im failing to keep a moving train of thought.

i hope my camera doesnt die. i forgot to charge it last night, so im charging it now. hrmmmm. whatevskies. idc, but my dad will.

pppphhhhhhhhtttttttt...........

i'm going to attempt to make more public posts...for my admirers.

ya know, it happens...with the myspaces and the facebooks, it's easy to become the target of those with stalkerish tendencies. it's also easy to find yourself snooping into other's lives. we all live with it. but here in lj, it's not so easy to find someone. you'd have to look through communities or obscure interests and to find me. perhaps a due date community? i don't know...but they did.

yesterday, i had TWO hits within 40 minutes from two different admirers...two that aren't in anyway associated with each other besides they're ex's of brando. one of those crazy things, i know. we all know i'm paranoid but this was not imagined, it's confirmed. bleh....

now, one of these girls i've never met and hadn't formed any opinion about her. brando isn't one to talk about the traits, personality, or downfalls of past girlfriends. (except for something about this one using her mom's vibrator or something, idk for sure, it's been so long since i heard that story.) for a while this one was a regular on our myspace pages, no biggie. sorta funny then kinda annoying and then a WTF kinda thing. ya know? but yesterday, she found my lj. that's going just a step beyond looking at a myspace page. she's now officially "creepy vibrator girl" in my head.

the other, eh, i can live with that one. she's harmless (well, both are)and hell, i'm guilty of stalking her at one time. i'm glad that time in both our lives are over.

so blah blah blah....they want to read my words. okay. i'll try to post more public posts and call it a social experiment. i can track the increase and frequency of their hits on a pie graph.

i like pie.

May the Lines Sag, May the Lines Sag Heavy and Deep Tonight
Hello everyone! I'm so, so sorry I haven't been commenting/posting as much as I used to; I been having difficulties finding time to do all that. I've started to catch up with all your posts and I'll try to comment on as many as possible.

My vacation has been pretty dull so far. I thought I was going to do so much; like fill it with lots of "exciting" things. Of course I really haven't done much of anything. Vacations are always let downs I guess.

Tomorrow's my birthday. I never do much on my birthday-I'll probably just eat a bunch of junk food like I did last year. I'm looking forward to the presents though. I'm hoping for gift cards or cash. I'm not sure if that's bad, that I prefer to pick out my own gifts, but who cares? Next month is both my nephews birthdays: Taylor's on August twenty-second, Brendan's on August twenty-third (which I find funny). I already got Brendan's party invitation. I hate going to children's parties. They always seem to go on far too long and there's always too many kids running around. But I love him so I'll have to stop whining and deal with it.

Good bye! :)

Took me three years, but I finally got it.
According to the state of Virginia, I am now officially authorized to operate a motorized vehicle.

:]

The lady I had was so much better than the jackass from last time. She was such a happy, tiny little woman. Funny and full of giggles. She reminded me of Mrs Weasley.

PARTY TIME! :D

It's pouring here today.

Usually I love the rain. The smell in the air the rain leaves, the way the lighting brightens up the sky, how loud the thunder is as it rips through the atmosphere.

But today, I'm mad at the damn weather! Because of the weather, my whimp of a dog woke me up at 7:00 this morning! I haven't been able to go back to sleep between his, "save me from the scary thunder" cuddles, and the whining that was comming out of my little dog was annoying as hell.

So here I am.. it's now 9:30 and I have the biggest headache ever, due to lack of sleep, and the storm is over, so my dog is sleeping... Maybe I'll just get a coffee or something.. later :)

The current set is sounding and feeling pretty good. It's pretty much the same set I did live last time. The bulk of it is the same. The only changes I made were that I replaced the jokes about marriage, dating and cleavage with jokes about drinking, drugs and health problems. I have every intention of doing more with marriage, dating and cleavage again, but I think they deserve their own set. I believe this is what they call building material.

My delivery is taking shape and I sound like I want to sound now for the most part. I'm getting there. The instrument is just about in tune. Now it's just a matter of learning and hitting the right notes. I can spend all night pumping myself up on the net, but I realize too that if any of it is any good it's because I've put the hours into it.

I think altogether I currently have about 10-15 minutes of proven live material. Which I guess is okay. I have a bunch of stuff I haven't tried live yet so it's just a matter of locking myself away in a room and hammering it all together like Tony Stark trapped in a cave by terrorists and then end up fighting my way out before I take it all to the stage. That's who I am when I work on my jokes, you know. Tony Stark. I've got science, technology, genius and know-how on my side. If you don't believe me you can check out my mustache. Tony Stark has a mustache. So do I. Case closed.

Thought for the day...Ancient Rome I think wouldn't have been such a bad place if only Caligula would have cut the shit. Cuz really, that guy was a dick. But he did get to bang a young Helen Mirren in that movie so maybe he was doing something right.

It's after midnight. Fuck off already.

12 weeks and 5 days pregnant<3
Today was our first sonogram. Verrryyyyy exciting! We were able to hear the heartbeat (170bpm) and see our beautiful baby! Within seconds of seeing the baby for the first time, my eyes just streamed with tears of happiness. I asked for the doctor to guess the sex, she was pretty sure on it being a boy. We won't find out for sure until around 18-20 weeks.. Here they are!

A mixture of Ariana and facebook bumper stickers have prompted me to get hooked on Twilight these past few days, and hooked I definitely am. I'm currently reading the third book (Eclipse) to get prepared for the fourth book coming out next week. Yay! Edward Cullen is beautiful. <3 So it's late, I'm hyper off cupcakes, I'm tired, and I'm reading a passage in the book when suddenly the thought on my mind is "wow... that is SO Anne of Green Gables." Then the next line is (no lie) "I was just having Anne of Green Gables flashbacks." LMAO. As if I wasn't already obsessed with this book to begin with, that line just basically secured my absolute love for this series. Niiice job on your part, Stephenie Meyer.

Wow, I am EXHAUSTED.

I have so much work this weekend.

And I'm going to see The Dark Knight again.

AHHHHHH.

"This is my favorite book in the world, though I have never read it..."
Metafilter discusses great opening lines from science fiction books... including a discussion of William Gibson's long outdated opening line to Neuromancer:

"The sky above the port was the color of television, tuned to a dead channel."

Which I happen to think is a terrible opening line anyway. But yeah... a dead channel now is blue.

Post your favourite opening lines from novels - any genre!

My favourite is in the header, but I'm also partial to:

"While Pearl Tull was dying, a funny thought occured to her." - Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant

"The past is a foreign country: they do things differently there." - The Go-Between

and

"The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed." - The Gunslinger

and thats when it fell off in my hand
i just went to reply to a guestbook message akim left me, but he has music on his melo that autoplays and the volume on this computer was really loud, so i went to turn it down, and the knob fell off in my hand. lol.
ya know the georgia nicolson series? one of the books was titled 'and thats when it fell off in my hand' but they wouldnt release it under that title in the US because that was apparently too crude.
lol.

things that are tragic number 430:

my dad and his cousin were arguing about whether the bass player or the drummer died in The Cars. the internet was fail on teresa's iphone, so i texted akim and asked him.

akim: who did your father say?
me: the bassist
akim: shit. he's right.

LOL. ilu, akim.

anyway, we went to the u.s. side of niagara falls and saw fireworks right over the falls. that was pretty awesometastic. plus, as the added bonus, i could see toronto on the other side. it freakin looks like vegas, lol, wth.

also, we drove around some random other part of buffalo where my dad's cousins grew up. that was pretty cool.

justin asked me if i was still friends with 'kentucky fried chicken'. it took me a moment to remember what he was talking about and then i remembered thats what he called alisa last time i saw him. ahahaha i lol'd a lot. i'll post the video for you later, but justin was going on a random tangent on theories as to why we were not friends anymore.

ive concluded that justin says all the things youre thinking but know you shouldnt say so you dont. like he tells you to stop talking and to hurry up and all that jazz.

anyway, tomorrow is the family reunion. we have to ben there at noon, so i need to go to sleep. not really, but...ive nothing better to do. plus im pretty tired.

toodles.

Hung out with my dad today :) Showed him around downtown London. We also went to Museum London... which was a waste of time. Basically a bunch of paintings a bunch of "prominent" Londoners couldn't sell in their garage sales so they donated them to this poor excuse for a museum. hahaha.

Went furniture shopping. I now have a dinner table and chairs. Which means.... I can start using this sewing machine that my Happy coworker gave to me. I'm excited. :)

went to the LMC for the open mic, which my dad absolutely LOVED and now regrets not bringing his banjo with him after all. I forgot to bring my harmonica, which meant the mandolin player looking for a harp player to accompany him was SOL. Oh well, next time.

Apparently my brother and his wife have split up, and now his wife is spreading nasty rumours about him all over Stettler. Sucky.

My aunt sent me a picture of my cousin Ian at his convocation. He looks so much like my dad it's scary, haha.

Going to Niagara Falls tomorrow. :)
