Tomorrow marks the 5th anniversary of the death of Meghann Cooper angrychairangel of New Jersey, just 5 days after her 18th birthday. Just a month ago, her younger brother turned 18 and graduated from high school with high honors. He'll be attending college this Fall.

If you are located in New York City or surrounding areas, and want to be involved in an AMAZING project called the Good Grief Journal project that will not only help you but others deal with grief, please join our meetup.com group, called The New York Good Grief Journal Project.

The Basics:

Memory-of.com is creating a project that we would like this support group to participate in. The project point is for 3000+ people to join together and share stories of overcoming grief and bereavement. The project is sponsored by Memory-of.com. A journal goes out and is only sent to people interested in sharing a story. As the book moves along more of the journal is filled up and more stories are shared. It can be completely anonymous.

In Honor of My Mom

Hi All,

I just lost my mom to breast cancer. So the more grief I feel, the more active I get. If I didn’t do this, I would feel very depressed.

So, in honor of my mom, I am doing some special fundraising. Because October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, the folks at Respectance are providing a link to charities. Any donations made to breast cancer linking through the site go 100% to the charities you chose. They do not take a service fee.

In memory of Jessica Howard

A very close friend of mine, Jessica Howard died on March 17, 2007 of Leukemia. Her LJ name was dianeabug.

mmmbopthis, a good friend and fantastic person, died of complications from leukemia on November 7, 2006.

colinportnuff, another good friend, died of complications from ALS on February 11, 2007. He spent the last couple years of his life fighting for good communication devices and better legislation so that those with ALS who came after him could have an easier time with it.

Amelia and Colin, I miss you.

My fiance, mad_mortigan, died from a motorcycle accident on July 23, 2007. I've tried to document as much of the incident as I can in my own journal, though it's mostly friends-locked. His obituary can be found here.

I have two deaths to add to the list, both of cystic fibrosis.

deathfromabove6 died August 10th, 2005. I can provide several references (including myself) who knew her and her family, met her, and went to her funeral. I knew her personally for over 12 years. She is still missed.

cfkitty passed away June 7th, 2007. There is evidence of her existance and death scattered throughout her journal. I never personally knew her or even really talked to her, but she was a friend of a very good friend of deathfromabove6 and deserves to be remembered.

She was an artist, model & photographer who lived in Indiana and for a short time in San Francisco.
She passed away on May 2, 2007 from a heroin overdose. She was 25 years old.
She was an inspiration to many.

She left this world via the Golden Gate Bridge. I hope she has found peace.

Rachel Paige Wahl Rachel Wahl died Monday, October 16th in San Francisco. She was 32 years old. She graduated from The York School in Monterey. After completing her BA degree in psychological services at the University of San Francisco, she continued her studies at Notre Dame de Namur in Belmont. There she achieved a master's degree in counseling psychology with emphasis on marital and family therapy, as well as, a certificate in chemical dependency. She was awarded for her thesis: Self-Injury and Substance Abuse. Proceeding with an internship as counselor for the clinically dependent population at the Haight Ashbury Free Clinic, she continued to work with the most indigent of San Francisco's people in need. Her ashes will be scattered to the winds along the southern coast of Monterey County, a place she truly cherished.

Amy Nicole Kinney babe_o_gus was my best friend in the whole wide world.

Randy was loved by many people both online and off. He was kind, thoughtful, and a genuine person. He will be very much missed, but all of his friends are very grateful for the time he spent in our lives.

Please add Randy to the list. His LJ friends know only that he died of "natural causes," so without family corroboration, we can only surmise that he had a health problem he kept to himself. His death was sudden, and even those of us who only knew him from LJ miss him sorely.

Please add tearysky to the list. He died on May 21, 2005, in a car accident. I was in the accident as well, and was lucky. His younger sister suffered severe injuries in the accident, and her boyfriend died in the hospital a couple of hours later.

I found out that mariposear died on 8/5/06, she was involved in a car accident. I did not know her, she was a camp friend of krazyhippie who is on my LJ f-list.

Two People Killed in Three Car Accident

AUGUST 7, 2006 -- Officials say two people were killed when three cars collided head-on on I-40 near exit 416 early Saturday morning.

The two people killed were 21-year-old Jennifer Zartman of Charlotte and 25-year-old Derrick Moore of Wallace. Five family members in another car were injured.

Another victim, 41-year-old Nichole Rauf, is in fair condition at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

The NC Highway Patrol is investigating whether one of the cars was driving on the wrong side of the highway.

Sunday morning, bagelapathy - David "Bagel" Baker died in an accident while riding home on his scooter. The accident occured around 4am. Details are still sketchy, as there is a still an autopsy being performed.

There is no information yet on funeral arrangements, as his family is mostly in Florida, and Bagel lived in the DC area. His roommate has posted in her journal and the Virginia Renaissance Festival, where he has been a performer, has also posted their condolences.

I don't think ragging has been mentioned here, but she died in April from injuries sustained in a car accident.

NEWPORT NEWS -- A 24-year-old Hampton man was killed late Tuesday and his passenger seriously injured when the driver lost control of his Chevrolet Camaro, which crashed into a tree near an Interstate 64 on-ramp.

David Robert Leslie Burgess was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

A witness reported being passed by the Camaro as it sped northbound on J. Clyde Morris Boulevard shortly before the crash, Virginia State Police Trooper J.T. Dudley said.

The witness briefly lost sight of the Camaro but then turned onto the interstate on-ramp and saw the wreckage about 20 yards from the roadway. A 3-foot-tall section of one tree's trunk was bare, its bark stripped by the impact of the crash.

Paramedics and police were notified at 11:11 p.m. that a crash had taken place along the westbound I-64 on-ramp at J. Clyde Morris. When they arrived, emergency personnel found Burgess dead in the driver's seat and his passenger, a woman, lying in the grass nearby, Dudley said.

The woman was conscious but suffering from life-threatening injuries, Dudley said. Paramedics transported her to Riverside Regional Medical Center. An update on her condition was not available Wednesday.

The gray Camaro's front end was destroyed, and Burgess' body was trapped in the wreckage, which was wedged between trees and partially wrapped around another tree.

Police said neither occupant wore a seat belt.

Police painted orange stripes along skid marks indicating where the Camaro left the ramp, and they spent more than an hour on-scene reconstructing the crash.

Hey everyone,

ms_elusive rightfully suggested I posted here to tell everyone the lovely Michelle Crawford aka Chelle aka tsyndra died on June 16th. She was a brilliant person; I hope everyone that knew her gets to find out what's happened sooner or later!!

My older sister , Michelle Crawford, passed away yesterday morning,.......way too soon in her lifetime. And i will be down there helping to prepare her decent into the afterlife.
So, those of your who know me,.....please keep me in your prayers, and my famliy as well....please.
My older sister was so many thing to me,...although she will now never know that. I am miserable with the thought that i will never again stand face to face with the sister who was my role model growing up, ...the girl who was like a guardian angel to me as a child, and the woman whom i felt had the back bone of a polarbear and would become something great someday...... May she rest in peace, and may i be able to stand strong for my family and her friends..... And refrain from cracking at the seams and crumbling into a miserable state of despair........( SHE KILLED HERSELF. )

EDIT: I just scanned down to make sure this hadn't already been said, and I can see you've had a problem with fake death's before. I'm afraid no obituary has been written to my knowledge, but I'll post one if I ever find one.
