Honoring and remembering LJers who have died

evil_dwagon was killed on the night of February 18th, 2009, while riding his motorcycle near the 29 Palms Marine Corps Base in California where he works. A drunk(unconfirmed) truck driver swerved in front of him and he struck the vehicle. The official news release is here.

The comments left there from his friends say more than I ever could. I'll always remember him as Ensign Reed, even though I don't actually know what his final rank was when he left his Navy commission. The stories he brought back from overseas about "some country in the Middle East without any vowels" were classic. He'll definitely be missed.

Daniel Sunday (danxsunday) passed away on 1/26/09 after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. Through his illness he never lost his sincere way with words or his sense of humor. He kept us laughing through the tears, right to the very end.

Rest in peace, Dan. You are greatly loved.

Brieanne Reichel (bwieannie
October 24, 1986- November 18, 2002.
She will remain in the hearts of the Riverhead High School Class of 2005 forever. An 18-wheeler blew through a red light and T-boned her car. She had just gotten her permit and was practicing her driving.

Her livejournal was also recently made- she never had the chance to make her first post.

ilostmapickle passed away on May 21st, 2008 of brain cancer. She was 19 years old.
She was the second girl I ever kissed, and I hadn't seen her since her diagnosis nearly 2 years ago. I didn't go to her wake either because it was too much for me.
I'll always feel really guilty for not seeing her before she died.

Tomorrow marks the 5th anniversary of the death of Meghann Cooper angrychairangel of New Jersey, just 5 days after her 18th birthday. Just a month ago, her younger brother turned 18 and graduated from high school with high honors. He'll be attending college this Fall.

Hi All,

I just lost my mom to  breast cancer. So the more grief I feel, the more active I get. If I didn’t do this, I would feel very depressed.

So, in honor of my mom, I am doing some special fundraising. A very close friend of mine, Jessica Howard died on March 17, 2007 of Leukemia. Her LJ name was dianeabug.

mmmbopthis, a good friend and fantastic person, died of complications from leukemia on November 7, 2006.

colinportnuff, another good friend, died of complications from ALS on February 11, 2007. He spent the last couple years of his life fighting for good communication devices and better legislation so that those with ALS who came after him could have an easier time with it.

Amelia and Colin, I miss you.

My fiance, mad_mortigan, died from a motorcycle accident on July 23, 2007. I've tried to document as much of the incident as I can in my own journal, though it's mostly friends-locked. His obituary can be found here.

I have two deaths to add to the list, both of cystic fibrosis.

deathfromabove6 died August 10th, 2005. I can provide several references (including myself) who knew her and her family, met her, and went to her funeral. I knew her personally for over 12 years. She is still missed.

cfkitty passed away June 7th, 2007. There is evidence of her existance and death scattered throughout her journal. I never personally knew her or even really talked to her, but she was a friend of a very good friend of deathfromabove6 and deserves to be remembered.

She was an artist, model & photographer who lived in Indiana and for a short time in San Francisco.
She passed away on May 2, 2007 from a heroin overdose. She was 25 years old.
She was an inspiration to many.

Rachel Paige Wahl Rachel Wahl died Monday, October 16th in San Francisco. She was 32 years old. She graduated from The York School in Monterey. After completing her BA degree in psychological services at the University of San Francisco, she continued her studies at Notre Dame de Namur in Belmont. There she achieved a master's degree in counseling psychology with emphasis on marital and family therapy, as well as, a certificate in chemical dependency. She was awarded for her thesis: Self-Injury and Substance Abuse. Proceeding with an internship as counselor for the clinically dependent population at the Haight Ashbury Free Clinic, she continued to work with the most indigent of San Francisco's people in need. Her ashes will be scattered to the winds along the southern coast of Monterey County, a place she truly cherished.

Amy Nicole Kinney babe_o_gus was my best friend in the whole wide world.
