Let's be fair, being a woman in the U.S., even a white woman, has some pretty shitty baggage that comes with it. Maybe not for Hillary specifically, but women in general, and of course women of color moreso, are heavily on the receiving end of violence.

Now, I'll admit that I haven't been following this controversy all that closely, but what did Wright say that even comes close to being hate speech? What I have seen seems to be pretty tame really.

I'm not saying you're wrong, by any means, but I thought she was a United Methodist. now, obviously, she's not a very good Methodist, since she's an underhanded, remorseless, power hungry liar who only cares about what doing public service can ultimately do for her, but I've never met a Methodist who was into the Dominionism scene.

you *do* get to choose your spouse. and as I recall, her spouse was lying to his family, while Rev. Wright was telling an uncomfortable truth to his family. I feel like this really ties into what we were discussing at snr a few days ago. This idea that white folk have that they can tell their PoC friends to cut off all ties with "crazy" family or PoC communities, when white people would never even consider cutting off their own families or communities like that. Like, it's okay for Clinton to run around with the crazy conspirators in The Fellowship, and not say a word against the evil and heresies and God only knows what else they are teaching, but how dare the black man keep his ties to his people?

as it stands now, she has not "ruined" the Obama campaign to the point that her getting the nomination is assured. in fact, barring some serious top to bottom decisions to betray the popular vot, she has virtually no chance of getting the nomination. I don't believe it matters if she thinks its the responsibility of the superdelegates to vote their hearts, the DNC is not gonna overturn american voters to accomodate an increasingly unpopular party insider and further weaken their chances in the general election. all of this is just HRC's disgusting last gasps. she's beyond desperate.
