[Administration] Hiatus Guidelines & Tracking
Members of
deathonly who find themselves in positions where they will be unable to post for more than four days have the option available to them to hiatus during that time. Listed below are both the list of members currently on hiatus and the guidelines to be followed in taking one.
On Hiatus

No one!

The administration team of Deathonly asks that all members reference and abide by the below guidelines in situations where they may request or require a hiatus.
Guideline ONE

Hiatus is any time longer than four days where a member will be unable to post due to access, time restrictions, or other reasons.

Guideline TWO

There are two basic types of hiatus: The first is a planned hiatus, where the member knows that they will be unavailable for longer than four days and, as such, will be unable to post; they inform the mods and a date is set for their return. The second is an emergency hiatus, where something has come up unexpectedly and is not controlled (family emergency, etc) and the member will be unable to post for longer than four days; they inform the mods and we, in turn, will write their characters out of a scene and will discuss a return date with the member when they are able to. Please note: The mods reserve the right to determine whether a hiatus is planned or emergency. Emergency is emergency, planned is any situation where you are aware and recognize the fact that you will be unable to post for a minimum of four days.

Guideline THREE

Short of an emergency where you are unable to type/access a computer, we need to know about a hiatus. Send an email to the mod account at doadmin@deathonly.com, otherwise we will assume it is normal inactivity and will proceed with the strike system. DO NOT POST TO LJ OR USE CHAT TO REQUEST HIATUS.

Guideline FOUR

Once your hiatus is set, you cannot renege on it or start posting before your return date. Along the same thread, unless you notify that admins that you need more time on your hiatus, your return date is your return date. Once it passes, the seven days start counting from that date for participation. You cannot arbitrarily decide to "wait" for a new arc to start before your return, unless otherwise organised with the admins.

Guideline FIVE

There is a two day leniency on either side of the set return date. You may start posting two days before your return date, or up to two days after without penalty or participation starting to accumulate.

Guideline SIX

A hiatus may not be longer than 5 weeks from start to return. Once a player returns from a hiatus, there is a restriction on the amount of time that must pass before they can call another hiatus, barring emergencies. The length of time a player must wait before requesting another hiatus is double the length of their previous hiatus.
