Deathonly

For those interested in applying to deathonly, this is the page you want to be at. ♥ What follow are basic guidelines for applying, along with the application form to be filled out and submitted to the mods for their review.

	Step ONE
	Verify that the character you wish to apply for is available. Note that applications for OCs will not be accepted at this time.
	Step TWO
	Fill in the application completely and check the spelling before you send. Proof reading helps everyone.
	Step THREE
	Requests for character holds can be submitted in a comment to this post, which will be screened. After receiving a request, the reserve will last three days, in which you can write and submit your application.
	Step FOUR
	Questions regarding the application or game can be directed to the mods through an email to doadmin@deathonly.com

Deathonly picks up right after chapter 50 of the manga, but there will be spoilers for current manga chapters and anime episodes.

Name: Your name, not the character's
Email: Self-explanatory
LJ Username: An LJ account is required for posting purposes
Experience: Give a brief rundown of how long you've been RPing or writing actively

Character: Name of the character you are applying for
Age: The age; for shinigami, put an approximate physical age

Zanpakuto: The name of their zanpakuto, the command phrase, and a description of the shikai form and abilities; for captain shinigami and those who are canon to have it, ban kai is also required (if a captain does not have one shown in manga/anime, DO-canon it with your own interpretation). For non-Shinigami, list any powers that they might have.

Description: Two paragraphs or more that summarize the character's personality, background, and touch on their appearance.

Situation: One or two paragraphs that describe where they are in this world, what they are doing to keep afloat, and what their current goals are with regards to the war, being locked out of Sereitei, and otherwise stuck in a gigai form. For arrancar, describe what their goals are now that Seireitei has fallen to them.

Writing Sample: Third person POV, past tense; give us a sample of the character you want to write, to show your grasp of the personality, etc. This is the most important part of the application.

** For shinigami/arrancar characters with little or no information about their zanpakuto, the onus is on the applicant to expand and/or create your own interpretation (example: Rukia in Deathonly has a different zanpakuto than canon as her canon version was only revealed long after her DO one was used). For arrancar, that means naming your zanpakuto and coming up with a shikai release ability (see the cast list for more details about arrancar).

	Rule ONE
	Being a dick is the job of only a certain phallic part of the body, therefore, do not act like one. Be gracious to other members, do not harass others, and remember that everyone deserves respect.
	Rule TWO
	The most important rule: HAVE FUN! This is a game (noun - an activity providing entertainment or amusement), the purpose is to have fun. If you are not having fun, take some time to re-evaluate things.
	Rule THREE
	By applying to this game, you are making a commitment to post at least once per week, for each of your characters in the active arc. If there comes a time when you do not see yourself able to meet this commitment, contact an administrator or visit hiatus information post.
	Rule FOUR
	Your character is your character, therefore your character is the one that you write in a scene. Do not assume or write motion/reaction by other characters, including the landing of offensive hits in a fight thread. Auto-permission may be granted on a case-by-case basis by members conversing and agreeing on the grounds.
	Rule FIVE
	This game carries a varied rating between 14A and NC-17 for content, language, and violence. Romantic themes (het, yaoi, yuri) may be appear, but will not be the focus of the game. All threads with adult situations will be labelled as such.
	Rule SIX
	There is an initial two character limit per member, with the restriction that none be within the same division (shinigami) or within the same faction (Vaizored, Arrancar). Members that have completed at least one arc may apply for up to four characters, but past participation will be considered a major part of the review.
	Rule SEVEN
	English, third person, past tense, and proof reading are the four foundations of posting. Grammar and spell check all posts and verify that you use the appropriate spelling of Bleach terms (Vaizored, arrancar, etc).
	Rule EIGHT
	Deathonly is a Bleach, canon-based game, do not bring in characters from other anime or manga series.
	Rule NINE
	The game runs on a strike system for violations of these rules, wherein a member will be removed from the game if they have two strikes on any one rule, or four strikes for violations on varied rules. Strikes can be applied retroactively by the mods, given that they action it within seven days of the infraction.
	Rule TEN
	Participation strikes given to members who have more than two characters will furthermore result in the loss of the character who went over the seven day posting limit.
	Rule ELEVEN
	Threads are scenes in which there are three to five characters; they are played out by posting in the comments section of the initial post. Mods will compile these comments into a new post on the community on a regular basis and the scene will continue by posting in the comments section of the new post.
	Rule TWELVE
	One-liner posts, defined as any post less than three sentences, are forbidden. Posts can and should reflect more than just a single statement or reflection.
	Rule THIRTEEN
	The mods reserve the right to amend these rules at any time, given that they notify the membership of the changes made.

Note: 'Reserve' indicates that the character has a three-day hold placed on them while an applicant fills out the application form. Applications are still accepted during this time period, but be aware it will be a minimum of three days before reviews are undertaken.

How long they waited or how long they planned will never be known. All that anyone knew was that they arrived without warning and launched an unprecedented attack on the people of the soul society. Hollows managed to breach the secured city without warning or mercy, bringing the ever present war to the home of the shinigami.

The Chuu-ou 46 Shitsu and first division of the Gotei-13 fell without warning, obliterated under the unprecedented strength of Menos Grande that rallied with organization thought impossible of Hollows. The Gotei-13 were the next targets, the instant of destruction had been enough to alert them and resistance rose against the invasion. The battle extended across days and nights, Menos with the advantage of size, power, and additional Hollows on the ground, and shinigami with the advantage of numbers and skilled officers with zanpakuto that could unseal as high as ban kai.

Then, as the battle began to shift towards victory for the defenders, the Menos Grande put into motion their initial goal. Columns of light descended, singling out the captains, vice captains, and strongest surviving members of the divisions. The use of Negation separated the warriors who could have tipped the balance, lifting them out of Seireitei. Destruction was not what awaited those spirited away, instead it was exile that met them. Removed from Seireitei and kept out of Hueco Mundo, the officers of the Gotei-13 found themselves dropped into the world of the living.

Scattered without a clue as to who survived and was sent into this same exile, each sought to return to Seireitei and each were met with an impenetrable barrier that refused their entrance. Too strong in their spiritual form, drawing Hollows by their presence alone, each shinigami took gigai to buy time to regroup and formulate some way to respond to this exile.

Those locked in the world of the living try to balance the task of returning home with that of hiding amidst the living souls, the facade of life keeping them from the attention of all but the strongest Hollows. However, the war follows them even here, in the form of Arrancar created by the hougyoku, targetting shinigami to wear them down to the point of destruction.

This war encompasses all, from the innocent to Gotei-13, from the Vaizored to the Arrancar, strings drawn by the will of those who none could have suspected such evil to reside within.

This is deathonly, a Bleach-based role-play game on Livejournal. Inspired by both the manga and anime renditions of Bleach, this game is set just after chapter 51 of the manga and diverts into an AU storyline.
