This Is Not My Beautiful Gulch
Sweet baby Moses, what is going on here? Sean Bean spends the night in pokey after another alleged abuse incident with his wife. People, WHAT IS THE DEAL?!

Meanwhile, in less disconcerting news, I've gone through 4 volumes of Red River and find it "meh". I've also gone through the first volumes of Dragon Voice and Wild Ones respectively and also find them both "meh". Will I keep renting them? Yeah, but I sure won't buy them. Red River isn't bad. It's a bit reminiscent of Twilight though, as an average looking girl suddenly has every male within 10 miles panting after her, she keeps getting kidnapped, and she inexplicably falls for a guy who's kind of scary. Dragon Voice I have a hard time taking seriously because all the action centers around the "deadly serious" world of Jpopdom with all the main characters acting like every Jpop related incident is life or death. Where Skip Beat keeps its tongue firmly in cheek a lot of the time, Dragon Voice is convinced that singers in boy bands want to touch the world with their songs and uplift the world of music. Wild Ones focuses on a girl who finds out her grandfather is a yakuza boss and who falls for her bodyguard. It would work better if they didn't try to mellow down the yakuza part so much. There's a whole "but these are the GOOD criminals" mentality to it that I have a hard time swallowing. Also it's sort of boring.

"Life is the saddest thing there is, next to death; yet there are always new countries to see, new books to read (and, I hope, to write), a thousand little daily wonders to marvel at and rejoice in, and those magical moments when the mere discovery that 'the woodspurge has a cup of three' brings not despair but delight."
Edith Wharton, A Backward Glance

"This world is filled with things that will never make sense. Trying to make so much sense of them will only result in one thing. Spending the rest of your life trying to remember what you were like before any of it mattered."

And with that, my watching schedule got delayed for 1 day.

But that's alright. I have all the time in the world now. I just passed my final requirements yesterday so I can finally say that it's Summertime for me!! Eat your hearts out normal people. I'm gonna have a Big Bang Theory marathon! nyahahaha.

After I watch Mamma Mia, and after I watch In the Heights.

Don't pimp this out on any communities.
Just post it in your own journal for your flist. Then your flist can post it on their flist, and so on, and so forth.
FUN, NO?
If you see this, PIMP IT!

The Cutie Care Bear Meme! :D

Stolen from [info]j_p_fan

Love-a-Lot Bear
You love to take care of others and people love being around you because you make them feel appreciated. You are very sweet and soft-spoken. You are also a romantic and consider yourself an excellent matchmaker, so you tend to be a bit nosy. But everyone still considers you the sweetest person they know.

J'ai 117 dvds. Je compte pas les divx et les coffrets de series télés. Quand est-ce que j'ai acheté tout ça moi?

Watched Without the King.
It's a documentary about Swaziland.
I recommend it if you are interested to learn more about the last absolute monarchy worldwide.

If my LJ was a person, it would now be heading off to Kinder
Is it possible to have such a thing as a gratuitous post post? 'Cos that's what this is due to be.

Or in other words, huzzah! My LiveJournal is four years old today! Celebrate! And so on and so forth.

...I've been keeping an LJ for four years. That's a mildly frightening thought.

Anyway, to keep up with my LJversary traditions, I now give you statistics.

Aren't you lucky, flist?

Anywho, in my four years of keeping this LJ, I have:
- Friended 196 people
- Be friended by 214 people
- Joined 206 comms, and 16 RSS feeds
- Made 998 posts
- Posted 17,403 comments
- Received 14,212 comments

And in the year since my last LJversary I have:
- Friended 6 people
- Been friended by 24 people
- Joined 54 comms
- Made 210 posts
- Posted 2,846 comments
- Received 2,935 comments

In conclusion, I have been somewhat less busy this year than the year before. Huh.

On the plus side, my grumpy has gone away.

Well, after going home from work (the woolworths one not the awesome one) injured, the day has been alright. We just had "the best thai meal since thursday" and now I'm going to go hunt some treasure in AOE3 on my new computer and eat American candy and drink Dr Pepper and watch Seinfeld. And as great as all that is, I'm actually wishing the weekend would hurry up so I can go back to work :(

Well the funeral was beautiful and I think it was a really nice day. We didn't go to the wake but I would imagine that would have been nice, as well. (Oh dear, I hope there aren't any English teachers reading this :/) So many people turned up, and although you knew everyone was sad, there was a kind of peace in the room. You could really feel how much she had touched everyone. I learned a lot of things as well about my friend which I wouldn't otherwise have known.

Then after the service we bumped into a load of people we hadn't seen for ages and everyone said my bump was "neat". I suppose they meant that it is tiny and looks like a fake pregnancy belly thing, and that I only look about 5 or 6 months even though I am 7 months now.

James and I and a few friends went out in the evening to play pool and his friend Nick was trying to chase a couple of girls chavs, who we met briefly. Both of them were off their faces and chain-smoking with gusto. The conversation was something like this:

Chav #1: (Loud squealing) Oooh, fair play to you! (Pointing at my belly)
Chav #2: She's just had a baby.
Me: Okay.
Chav #1: She's four weeks old. Is it your first?
Me: Yes.
Chav #2: Are you scared?
Me: No, not really.
Chav #2: Have people been telling you horrible labour stories?
Me: Well I don't really...
Chav #1: Gas and air is the best f***ing thing in the world!
Chav #2: Is it your first? Yeah, yeah! Gas and air! You'll be fine! Don't be scared!
James argues with chavs about existence and/or ownership of a particular pub.
Chav #1: (Thrusting phone at me) Do you want to see a picture?
Me: Okay (Looks at phone politely.) She's lovely. What is her name?
Chav #1: [I can't remember the name but it was suitably chavtastic.] I have a two year old as well, but he's a little s***.

:( Chavs scare me.

Voom
About to head off for Brighton - doing a bit of maths and so on, I figure that quarter to twelve is about the latest I can head off and still make my train. The checklist has grown, though - it's almost distressing:

- Costume
- Boots because I am not wearing those fuckers today, no way, not until I have to
- Gladstone bag
- Spare herbs for physreps
- Daz's chocolate memory cards (which I don't think came out quite right but they've been in the fridge all evening so ... we live in hope and if not, hey, green chocolate)
- Little sack o' tradeable crap for Floating Market
- Camera

I was going to bring my laptop but in the end ... too much junk. Thanks, but no. I'm already going to clank when I move. Yech. So instead it'll have to be the notebook that perennially lives in my handbag for the drabble that's been flitting around my head for the last week and I've been too tired to set to 'paper', as it were. So ... yeah, anyway, things to do and places to go. Less nervous this time, though partly that's because I've just woken up after going to bed at near daylight and I'm not last of the great morning people.

Okay, this leave me ten minutes to pack my shit and get out the door. Hasta luego, people - see you when I get back (not before 2am my time, from the look - I'm such a nutbar...)

If you have not yet signed up for the [info]sshg_exchange, get yer arse over there and do so.

On va donc discuter.
