Is it really any surprise that MTV and Nickelodeon are owned by the same people? Both have gone to shit, and it really correlates; Nickelodeon raises kids up on bullshit shows, and to have a be-an-individual-while-still-following-the-crowd mentality, then passes them over to MTV. I realized just how bad it had gotten when I was flipping through the TV not too long ago- which, I don't really watch TV all that much, due to the infultration of fucking REALITY TV fa,mldkasd- and some shit was playing on MTV called My Super Sweet Sixteen. What the FUCK is the purpose of that? Giving a camera to some stuck-up little bitch planning her own birthday party, and then watching her complain about every little thing? Quality TV right there.
I miss the 80s and 90s, god damn.

This channel really does frustrate me. I like VH1 alot better. For one, they play better music, and two they don't bleep out stuff that has no reason to be bleeped out.
My dear friend Alexa informed me that the other day she was flipping channels and came across the video for Weezer's "We're All On Drugs" on MTV. She told me that they bleeped out drugs and had Rivers singing "We're all on love" instead. How freaking stupid is that...Especially when the next video/song right after that was talking about sex, sex, and more sex and had women shaking their half naked arses all over the screen. I swear MTV=total shite.

hi, im new around here. obviously.
anyway, i highly endorse the death of mtv. that station just gets worse and worse by the second.
the other day while flicking through the music channels it happened to land on an ad on mtv that said Advanced Warning that night was going to have Motion City Soundtrack on. so i got all excited because i thought "finally, i decent band".
so i tuned into the show that night. they played an interview and started playing a clip. and i liked the clip, i thought it was funny.
and then just in the middle they cut it off and went back to the stupid air head presenter.
why would they just stop the video in the middle? music television you idiots, play MUSIC.
i became more frustrated when i downloaded the video and found MTV had cut a lot of bits out of it. they also beeped the words "self medication"
oh noes! he said self medication. quickly kids, cover your ears. *shakes head*
not only that MTV refuse to play most Seether songs. most people probably dont like Seether but i think its stupid they dont play Driven Under because it has an imploding car. and they dont play Remedy because its "scary"
i think ashlee simpson is far moer frightening than an insane carinval person.
im done ranting for now. down with mtv!

hey im new to this community.
I don't understand how MTV can be so popular amongst our fellow "peers" and when they actually play music it is not even good.
I don't even remeber the last time i heard actual music on this channel.

I love how MTV is airing these "Know your music.. best watch your MTV" ads. I mean, you can learn -so much- about music from watching The Real World and Roomraiders.

I could sit here all day and point out every little stupid band on MTV and give you a reason why I don't like them or why you shouldn't. Not gonna do that because it's far to easy, and since half the stuff I listen to gets played on MTV, I don't want to come off as hypocrite either.
My main, main problem is the fucking reality TV shows that are programmed on the network. The dating shows, the "Real world" and it's spin-offs, and the extreme makeover's involving plastic surgery. Ow joy. Nothing says fun like getting hack-up to look like my favorite celebrity and give me thousands of dollars of debt to go along with it. Plus, "I'm tired of looking like "me", I want to be someone else so I can get that boyfriend or dream-job" or whatever the hell they want that involves modeling and such. Funny how this shit always involves modeling. One episode, some chick wanted to get a boob job so she could be a dancer at a strip club. Enough said....
The part that pisses me off is the fact that MTV goes along with this shit. Because getting butchered on camera has become "standard must see TV" so they're just hauling the sheep in for the slaughter and there's not a damn thing anyone can do about it cause it's there choice(choice based on vanity that is). I hate this crap. I hate the fact that this very channel promotes making your own choices and doing things your way, letting your voice be heard because you are an individual, but at the same time, lets people our age(and who are disgustingly attractive mind you)go under the knife because they feel like if they got that boob, nose job; calf, cheek, lips, or ass implant; and/or liposuction, that they would be perfect. That my friends is the bullshit.
I'm not a big fan of plastic surgery and I know that not everyone gets it for this specific reason. If someone has a defect or something that is actually wrong with them then they should get it fixed, but on that same coin, you can't just get you're tits and cheeks filled because Beyonce did hers last week. I wish someone could put an end to this shit because the idiocy is so thick, you could cut it with a knife.
Ok, I'm done with the puns.
