Er. Sorry this took so long? 8D? Another Note in its original story format--not a summary--for those of you who are unfamiliar with my previous post about this. Enjoy! It's a good chapter! I had a lot of fun translating it. Let's hope it saves my grade, no?

Ano... Not really my first time post here (had a fic... whilez back), but it's my first time questioning/requesting; I don't do it often because it feels like I'm imposing *bows head*

But, er... I just bought Death Note 13 How To Read, and at the end of the volume is another story... was it like a pilot of some sort? Now I'm noticing at the top of the pages it reads "How To Play - Ryuk's Jiyuuchou" *waves a hand* Meh... most of the chapters have a "how to" heading.

I digressed! ( cutting, just in case )

Haven't seen anyone mention this yet, so: vol. 3 just turned up at my comic store this week (Eastern Canada, for anyone mapping). I haven't taken a close look yet, because vol. 2 still hasn't made it . . . -_-

Hey, guys! In light of the recent discussion about Viz's translation of Volume 2, I thought I'd take the opportunity to link back to a scanlation/translation comparison done on Volume 1. Though there hasn't been one done on Volume 2 yet, I thought this might be informative:

It's especially important to read the comments as well, and taken as a whole I think it's a pretty thorough analysis. ^^ I suppose the overall concensus was that the Viz translation was more literally accurate, though the scanlations could be more...intriguing? In any case, this should probably be linked on one of our resource lists (I'll get to that in a minute), and if anyone's up to doing an analysis of Volume 2, it's more than welcome. Let's just keep in mind that a translation team can change as easily as a scanlation one, so take nothing for granted in future volumes! ;)
