If this interview don’t contain any season 2 spoilers-just minor leads-Jared gives lots on his private life : his beginnings, his fears and his desires. But he also talks about his girlfriend....Sorry girls! This charming young man is everything but single. And he is madly in love. Sorry!

M: What new in the season 2?

JP: The demon tracked in season 1 has a much importance in this new year. In season 1, it was more about finding our father and trying to find an explanation for my girlfriend’s death in the show Jess. There is also a development about the plans the demon told Sam he has for him.

M: Don’t you think that in Supernatural your character os a bit on the side since he is the only one who has a power?

JP: Yes and it was a bit developped at the end of season 1 when both characters start to realize that Sam is really particular. Nor his brother or father can help him in this quest which is his. There is something after him and i really like to know what is it! But i think it would be explain in the season 2.

M: Can you talk about your work with Jensen?

JP: It’s really cool to share this experiment with someone who gives everything in his job. He is very serious about all of it. When I have doubt, he is the first to cheer me up and the other way around. He is a very talented actor. And in real life, i suspect him sometimes to fake some of his feelings or reactions! He would tell me the same thing about me. We really are there for each other and get along really well.

M: Jensen Ackles was just telling us that he saw his character as a new Han Solo when yours would more be a Luke Skiwalker...

JP: Eric Kripke, show creator wanted to developp a mythology in the show. There is this hero who is more reluctant on one side and this other character who is more an adventurer like Indiana Jones. So yes Jensen’s comparison is pretty accurate.

M: What do you learn about yourself since you started Supernatural?

JP: That I really like sleeping! It’s the first thing that comes to me, because it’s the thing we are the most deprived of during the nine mo,ths of shooting. When I was younger, i didn’t understand this need of sleep and the fact that my parents would go early to bed. But today I could totally go to bed as the time I’m talking to you. More seriously, I’ve learned a lot of things especially on my actor performance. We live in a country which isn’t ours and I sleep in a hotel room. I have the feeling of living the incertitude Sam Winchester is going trough. I never know what awaits me for the next weeks of shooting. I live in a place that is unfamiliar to me and I don’t see often my friends and family. Just living that can tell you a lot about yourself. I also noticed that i can work harder that i taught i was capable to. It’s a very positive point.

M: In your life have encounter something supernatural?

JP: No I haven’t. And the more i’m asked this question the more i regret I haven’t ! The only little story i have on this happend last year after the nine intense months of season 1 shooting. I was in Texas with my family and we were watching the season finale. Suddenly a lamp starts flickerring on a living room table. I looked at it and said out loud “The Demon”. I was afraid all of this start following me! Of course it was just a bulb that needed to be changed.

M: Are you superstitious?

JP: A little. For example I have a little ritual when I take the plane. When I enter the plane I put my luggage down and I kiss the door. I don’t know why i’m doing it. Maybe I saw someone did it and now I feel oblige to do the same thing.

M: You do that in front of people?

JP: Of course! Every time some flyer look at me weirdly. I think people are surprised someone as tall as me can be superstitious. You also won’t see me walk under a ladder.

M: Have you ever consulted a psychic?

JP: I was pushed one day to go see a woman who could read the hand ligns. I don’t remember in details what she announced me but i rememeber the main ideas. I would become very rich but would be unhappy in love. Good and bad things. All of this was a little nuts and funny but I did more to be cool in front of my friends!!

M: But you didn’t forget...

JP: I’m waiting for my situation to get worse!

M: Did you have original experiment with you fans?

JP: Once. We were in Montreal for a musical event and on stage girls were were throwing underwear at us. And believe me there was a lot! Did they expect us to wear them? I don’t know. But otherwise it’s totally ordinary. We get compliments about the show. It’s very flattering. It also depends on the place you’re. For example if you pass an elementary school, girls mostly ask you for a picture with them or an autograph so they can show their friends. On the other end when you’re in a bar, girls are very enticing. I think that a lot of them are interested by money and have absolutly not shy.

M:Are do you suceed to sort between uninterested and interested people?

JP: It begins with a feeling you have when you’re in front of the personn and to be honest it’s not very difficult to sort it out. There is the one who will only talk about your job, asking you who is your agent or if they’re hiring in the show. And there is the one who will talk to you about anything but that. On this subject, I lived something really cool in Australia while filming House of Wax. There you’re more tease on the fact that you’re an actor than hero-worship. Everytime we went out to get a drink, everyone was making remark on our job like if being an actor means we were less smart that others. It was very fun.

M: What are you afraid of in life?

JP: Nothing in particular, I don’t like noctural noises. I have two dogs and I don’t like when they growl for no reason during the night. I have the impression that they can feel whan something is wrong and it kind of scares me. It reminds me that when i bought my house we decided with my fiancé to sleep there as soon as we get the keys. There was no furniture but we decided to spend our first night on and under blankets on the floor. We fell asleep and in the middle of the night we woke up. There were stranget noises coming from the stairs. It was a strange atmospher because I didn’t have any flaps and the house with enlighted by the light coming from the street. I was trying to reassure my girlfriend but I was quite afraid myself!

M:What was it?

JP: In fact, since the house was new i think it was the wood which was working and making these craking noises.

M:You’re still living here?

JP: Absolutly! It is in Los Angeles. But you’re always afraid in this kind of situation, was it a spirit or worse a crazy guy who got into your place. I’m not really afraid of spirits but my girlfriend totally is. She can’t even look at a commercial with spirits. She got scared of other staff that will scare her at night. I put a lock on her bedroom door and when I asked not to forget to close it at night she told me that it won’t make the spirit not go in.

M: Does she manage to watch your show?

JP: Yes she does but only because i’m in it! But she prefers that i’m next to her to watch an episode. I love her with all my heart. She supports me in everything i do but her only flaw is that she is easily impressionnable! Once we had a bet which exact terms i don’t remember. If i won she would have to watch with me The Shining of Stanley Kubrick, one of my favorite movie. I don’t remember what i should have done if she had won but whatever she had lost. After 20 minutes of movie she was already crying! When we started to date she had assured me she loved horror movies. I understood later she only liked this kind of movie so I could take her in my arm and reassure her. I felt oblige to stop the movie otherwise I think she wouldn’t had slept all night!

M: She does the same job as yours?

JP: Exactly, she is an actress. Her name is Sandy McCoy and i met her on the set of an horror movie called Cry Wolf. It’s a scary movie based on reality. The story is centered around a serial killer. And that doesn’t scare her! Who can explain fear?

M: What was your parents reaction when you told them you wanted to be an actor?

JP: They were really very supportive and at the same time trying to be realistic. I was really lucky because i met my agent really early. It was on a contest. And we’re still working together. My mother is a teacher and my father is an accountant. For them to be successful in life you have to have a degree. I’m the only actor of the family. My bother is s doctor and my sister is studying to become an architect. Nobody understood where this desire came from. My father told me that i had to pursue my dream but he wanted me to get my diploma, he comes from an uneasy background and know the importance of work. He is a real support which doesn’t avoid from worrying for his children. My mother is the same. She nerver misses one of my play when i was doing theater. I’m really lucky on this side.

M: Do you have a lucky charm?

JP: My girlfriend and I won 2 bracelets, I have the black, she has the white. We wear them all the time.

M: Do you have movie project?

JP: Not currently because unfortunatly the show leave us little time to get into this kind of production. But I’m gonna try to shoot one next summer.

M: A particular desire?

JP: I’m at the market mercy so i wait to see what I will get. But if I get to choose an action movie. Otherwise a comedy. But whatever: I’ll take what comes my way!
