Start the Revolution

Okay maybe not a revolution but we need to start doing something, all the negative feedback Jo is getting is seriously hurting the odds of Dean/Jo ever happening, it's even hurting the odds of Alona Tal coming back to Supernatural. So I say we do something... maybe start a site, or a letter campaign, or just spreading the Jo love through the Supernatural fandom. Come on! There has to be more than 100 of us. We need to show Kripke that giving Dean a worthy love interest won't kill the show, the show is dying without it, anyway! It's on the verge of cancellation... this could be the breath of fresh air that saves us!

So I'm asking all of you talented, gifted JoDes to keep doing what you're doing: being creative, but post your stuff everywhere... let them see we mean business and get organized, we might not have JoDe this season but we might prove that Jo is by no means Dean's "little sister" nor that we want her to be.

I'm currently working on another website, but I know who can give us free hosting if anyone is interested on making a site for JoDe (they must be the only couple on Primetime without one!) and start pimping Alona and Jo across the fandom. I'll do my part, anyone else with me?

I think it's a good idea. A Jo website or even Jo/Dean website would be awesome. I have absolutely no skill in making a website, but I'm willing to contribute with fanarts, fanfics and music videos!! I know there's a forum already, and maybe we should try to make this forum more alive!!

At this point, I don't really care if Jo/Dean never happens in canon, but I would be really sad never to see Jo again!

I'm with you there, some things are better in fanon anyway. I'm a Rogue/Pyro shipper and I enjoy fandon a hell of a lot more than I enjoy canon (well maybe not X2) but I'd get really mad if I never see Jo again... she's just awesome.

I think it would be very positive if the site gets made.

this is a fantastic idea. I just adore JoDe, they got this big sparkle in their eyes when they are together and I think they are a perfect couple and they really support the show in my opinion, so I would be glad to join and support any campaign or anything.

Sounds great! I think a Dean/Jo official website is a very creative idea. As much as I love the LJ, I think an official website with image galleries, fanfic, fanart, stuff about the actors/characters, etc. will show everyone how much potential has!

I can pitch in with graphics. Just let me know :) I'd love to make a Dean/Jo layout!

A website is a good idea, yeah. :) No idea how to make one, so that I can't help with, but I can try to make graphics (mostly icons) for it.

Maybe once someone decides to take on the job, we could have a brainstorming in the community for what to have on the site? Cause good context on a site is important for it to make an impression.

If the site gets made, the first thing in order would be brainstorming... I mean picking the name and what we should have and if we're going to have a petition or something just for more Jo or JoDe as well.

Anything you do is important even if there isn't a site, just spread the JoDe and Jo love!

That's an awesome idea!! I kept thinking how JoDe needs a site of their own. I'd be willing to help out in any way I can. I started a forum for them, but there aren't many active members right now. You can check that out here if you want. Anything I can do to help out with a JoDe site, consider me at your command. ;)

Kripke does like Jo, so that's a definite plus. Maybe if we raise our voices a ~~little~~ lot he'll get the picture and at the very least bring Jo back more often, with the potential of JoDe happening later down the road.

Yeah, I think the problem, and that, in any fandom, is that people who disapprove of something always tend to be the noisest. I never understood why, but it's definitely a reality. Creating a website, maybe adding the forum you created to it, and then fill the website with all sort of things, and writing a letter to Kripke about the website, and why we think Jo has to come back would be awesome!!! If he likes her, then maybe he'll change his mind :D

And the CW board is crawling with anti-Jo people. They even raided the "Bring Jo back!" thread and started bashing her! It's so sad. But we've got plenty JoDe support and a website to bring all of the awesomeness together would totally rule. And hopefully give Kripke a wake up call that yes, there is a fair amount of the fandom who likes Jo. Some of them can "tolerate" her, some of them just simply like, some ship her with either of the brothers, but there's a bigger Jo fanbase out there than there seems. Add that with the fact that he said he loves the character, and the possibility of more Jo could be very good. ;)

I think once the website will be made and we'll get the forum to be more active, someone should make a letter to Kripke, saying "hey, here are the Jo/Dean fans" and explaining him that none of us really hang out at twop or over the CW boards because in those boards, things can get nasty if you don't follow the majority... There are nice people but in a general way, better not be a Jo fan. Yeah, he should see that Jo/Dean fans exist, just not in the boards he might visit.

You're right, the Jo fanbase is more important than what it actualls seems, but since she's a secondary character, not everyone gets involved in supporting her like we do...

Maybe we could merge the site and forum together. There's a website for Smallville's Clark and Lois called Happy Ending and their forum sky rocketed after they had a site.

And we really do need to start screaming or there will be no Jo for us! Or worse... the return of Cassie *shudders*

This sounds like a great idea--even if it's just to help promote more love for Jo. All of the hostility toward her character is very... unsettling. I don't really know what I can do, but I'm pretty good with movie maker, writing, and ok with art and design. I'm presently trying to compile a very professional letter to Eric Kripke.
