Brutally honest criticism for brutally honest poetry.
nicadbattery is your head moderator.
This community is specifically for aspiring young poets looking for feedback on their work.
This community is also for people to share favorite poets, poems, information about poetry, etc. Feel free to discuss anything poetry if you wish.
This community is also a resource for poets wishing to get published. If you have any tips for getting published, post them.
There are some rules.
1. No horrifically cliche stuff. No hearts or tears or blood, unless you are really certain you can pull it off. That or your name is Silvia Plath. And no fluffy pretentious crap. You can post whatever poem you want, but expect what is coming to you in the way of criticism.
2. No personal attacks. However, telling someone their poetry really sucks is fine, but only if it really sucks. Constructive criticism would be more appreciated. Likewise, no "OMG YOUR POEM IS SO AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" People know how good they are. You can compliment someone, but showering them with praise is only gonna blow up their ego.
3. No plagiarism. If posting someone else's poem MAKE SURE TO CITE THEIR NAME.
4. Moderators will be picked from the ranks for their knowledge and talent.
5. Lurking is fine, but before you post for your first time please introduce yourself, and be sure to give information such as name, age, location, etc. Just the basics. How long you have been seriously writing would be a nice one as well.
6. Any more rules you think are necessary, e-mail me.
