So I found these two little guys on my back patio today.

I really can't imagine how that one got on the table, unless somebody actually put it there (which was my Husband's first thought). We live in an apartment complex, but I have no idea who would do such a thing. We don't even have any neighbors at the moment. It's kind of creepy and intriguing at the same time. I mean, I doubt that it hopped up there and just dropped dead. Odd.

this is my first time posting here, but i've been a long time lurker. i'm so glad there is a community for photos of this type! i think i tend to gross some people out with my obsession. ;)

anyway, .

this is an older photo from a couple years ago. this poor tiny bird had gotten stuck on a burr and couldn't get free again. i found him there, dead. :(

i live on the edge of a greenbelt that runs through east Toronto, and we have a lot of wildlife hiding out in our little urban forest. mostly raccoons, skunks and squirrels, but i've even seen deer down there!

with so many raccoons living out there i find a lot of dead ones. these two coons both chose the same hollow willow tree to die in. one died in the fall, the other died the spring after. i took these photos the following fall (2006).

found this coon last fall laying beside the little marsh in the woods. he was pretty stinky. i went back to collect his skull this spring and couldn't find him anywhere.

this little guy was mauled by something, probably a cat, and just left on the side of the trail.

my mom came to visit me so i took her for a walk down by the creek where i found these old raccoon bones. i promptly grossed her out by taking photos and collecting them ;D

and this fly died in my bathroom.

So, I'm finally losing my dead photos virginity... I have no idea why I took the picture since I have a bad cellphone cam but here it is.

Poor little baby bird. It probably dropped from it's nest and died in the rain. I moved it off the sidewalk afterwards so no kids would see it like that. There's another time and place to learn about death.

The following are from an abandoned pool. Who knows what kind of disease and rot lurks here. There is also a ton of rotten watermelons at the bottom of it. It's a real-life bog of eternal stench. Anyway, here are two dead things I found in it...

The lizard is okay, but not too sure abut that millipede.

What a way to go, yuck!
