Current mood: productive

I've been hoarding scans.

Straggler from the OC sessions.

Angry at myself, so I drew some torsos for practice. Some stolen from stock images on DA. Etc. etc.

Fish?

Some watercolor on printer paper. Green colored pencil for no reason other than it was on the floor.

I actually like this one. I did. Did.

So...in a theoretical situation, humanity continues on it's path and destroys more natural places, then is wiped out. What animal species do you think would be left by that point and why?

Just a question, totally not making up new stories or anything. Totally.

It can be anything you want, if you can back it up with logic and science. Even pretend science.

I'm just curious what people will say really.

Isn't the History Channel airing a documentary on the answer to just that question? I'm sad that I won't be able to watch it.

Cockroaches, pigeons, small predatory birds, dogs, cats, rats, rats, rats are cool. So cool that I don't have to continue with that list.

There was a rhino stomping around the remains of NYC or some crap in the promo ad for it, so... hm, probably nothing in dire need of watching. Corny CGI animals ahoy!

Cockroaches, for sure. Depending on how bad we mess up the ecosystem, like if we're talking some sort of global catastrophe, all but the oldest and most adaptable life would just get snuffed out. Triops, for example, are damned near impossible to wipe out. Their eggs can withstand drought, extreme temperatures, can't be digested by predators, and are viable for years. The females can also self-impregnate if no males are available.

Temperature changes would wreak havoc with ocean life, but I'd wager the really deep ocean life wouldn't be affected nearly as much. Typically, mass extinctions are followed by population explosions once life bounces back. I imagine insect life on land getting a foothold again relatively quickly, while new forms of ocean life bubble up from the deeper regions. That's where I'm going with my comic, anyway.

I, for one, welcome our new cockroach masters.

In my theoretical question, humans just cease to exist, leaving whatever other life alive.

I had pet triops, or 'Aquasaurses' as the box liked to call them. Best pets ever.

Torsos are made of fail. I need to really get the same flow that my have in animals and apply it to humans.
