Welcome to the Dead Artists' Society, where all the really cool dead artists hang out!

To Play:
Make a sockpuppet journal of a famous dead artist (here meaning someone who produced paintings, drawings, sculptures, or anything else one might see in a museum), come back here, and hit the 'join community' button. Membership is open- that may change in the future if things get too crazy, but I'll trust you guys until then.

Go crazy. Post your art (preferably behind an lj-cut). Bitch about commissions, demanding patrons, and unfaithful significant others. Ask for advice (both puppets and living people may post, so don't feel shy). Challenge your greatest rival to a duel at dawn, or just say mean things behind his back. Whatever you do, the main thing is to have fun!

Guidelines:
-Pick a dead artist you know enough to impersonate. We don't have to be convinced you've been possessed by his or her spirit, but it's no fun if you don't put in any effort. :) Wikipedia and the World Wide Arts Resources site may be helpful to you. -You must make a puppet journal to post as the famous dead artist you've picked.
-Know how to correctly spell and punctuate your posts unless you're going for satire, historical purism, or some other artsy effect. Please. For the good of your fellow players' eyes.
-Do not be a douchebag. (This generally applies if you're posting as yourself. Puppets have lots of rein for maximum entertainment value, but don't abuse it too badly.)
-No spamming the community. If you feel that whatever you're peddling is on topic, email me.
