 Is Aaron Douglas still attending D*Con?  He's nowhere to be found in the Pocket Program so I was just wondering...

30 July 2008 @ 07:15 pm

A week ago or so the schedule said that JM was going to be attending "The Good, the Bad, and the Beauty" panel on Friday, but now the site does not list him under that panel's guests. He is still going to attend an AMSF panel on Sunday and will be doing the Whedontrack as well, but I'm unsure if he will be at the The Good, the Bad, and the Beauty because while not listed as a guest for that panel, it still says that the among the characters will be Brainiac who is played by James.

Clarifications, please anybody?

To All You Book-loving Atlanta Locals:

I just got a note from Sean Wallace, Publisher/Editor with Prime
Books/Wildside Press. It seems that SF/F publisher Meisha Merlin,
which declared it was shutting down in November, has a rather large
amount of stock (tens of thousands of books) in its Stone Mountain
warehouse (1440 Kelton Drive, Stone Mountain) that needs to be rescued
or it will all be destroyed/recycled.

Sean is renting a truck which can fit fifteen pallets, single-stacked,
or thirty double-stacked, but there's no forklift available, only a
pallet jack. So he has to fill the truck by hand. He'll be in town
Tuesday and Wednesday (4/22 and 4/23) to load up, and he's asked me to
spread the word that he's desperate for volunteers to help him. Anyone
who volunteers can cart off any books they want that don't fit into
the truck.

If you can help out or know of folks who might be able to, email Sean
at: seanwallace at comcast.net

Does anybody have video of the Friday Trek vs BSG panel?  Particularly the conversation between Aaron and Jamie about playing footsies or Aaron stealing Frakes' sign?  Thanks.

For those of you interested in marching with your fellow Browncoats in the parade or entering the costume contest this year at Dragon Con, this information is for you! In order to pre-register for the parade so we can inform the convention of how many people will be in our group, send an e-mail to sebcparade@gmail.com and include the information listed below:

* Full Name
* Username
* E-Mail Address
* Costume you will wear in the parade (or simply "Original Design" if it is not a character-based costume)
* Whether you plan to march in the parade, enter the costume contest, or both

At the moment we don't have a solid location for the costume contest, but it is slated to take place after the parade. Once there is a more definite time and place, or any other details have been decided on about the events, such as prizes for the contest, e-mails will go out to the address you pre-registered with. For more information check out our website http://southeasternbrowncoats.com/ (Which is having server issues at the moment, but should be fully functional again soon) for links to the yahoo group and livejournal community. Any further questions regarding the parade/costume contest can be sent to sebcparade@gmail.com , please do not send them to the webmaster of the site or the president of SEBC. Thanks, and keep flying!

I'm excited to inform everyone that at the last track meeting, it was announced that Stargate and Stargate Atlantis will be given its own track programming! The lovely lady who has been selected is Marcia Patterson, a long time fan and advocate for Stargate programming at Dragon*Con. This is great for American Scifi, because it means we'll be able to expand our programming on other shows that we may not otherwise have been able to cover as fully. If and when the Stargate track gets a livejournal, I'll be pimping it here for y'all to join!

With regard to the Fanvid contest, the SG1 and SGA entries will be dropped, with notification going to the submitters. Those vids that have already been reviewed will be sent over to Marcia, for potential viewing at the Stargate Track.

Marcia can be reached at pinkdaisy1 AT aol (dot) COM.

Hey guys,

I just removed a post that was pretty much just an anonymous poster who made it their business to flame Aaron because of the Babylon 5 decision. I realize some of you don't agree with the decision, and I appreciate people making their feelings on the matter clear in thoughtful, constructive ways.

However, personal attacks and flames will get deleted. And anonymous poster IP addresses are now logged.

Thanks!
