April Meeting: New time and place in Virginia
Hey there -- it's that time again and it's no April Fools': there's a new place and time for the meeting.

Date: April 2 (Wednesdays, by popular demand)
    Time: 8 PM
Location: the food court of Springfield Mall

Granted, this is likely a temporary location for the new southern direction. Chris figures this would be a good place to start while picking out a new permanent home. If you need directions, please contact him at bitterstoat at gmail.com

On an aside, this Saturday will be the DC Rollergirls Spring Break at the DC Armory; the doors are open at 4 and the bouts begin at 5. Tickets are available at the door, so don't let Ticketmaster scam you out of lots of money. Here's their site: http://www.dcrollergirls.com/

tiny ghosts print anthology now available.

Now that tiny ghosts has been going for two years, we here on the team are proud to announce the publication of the tiny ghosts anthology! It's just like the tiny ghosts webcomic, except made of paper!

It's 80 pages, full color, and sells for only $15.95.

If you want to learn more, check it out at http://www.tinyghosts.com/books/

And if you've never heard of tiny ghosts before, take a look: http://www.tinyghosts.com/. Tiny ghosts is about what it feels like to be a monster/ghost/robot/toy/etc. but not the scary kind. It's about being frightened of war and what you might turn into when you grow up if you aren't careful. It's about loss and longing and love and hope and being small and scared of a big world and not knowing your place in it and wanting to belong but always being on the outside and not being sure that God loves you but really hoping he does even though pretty much everyone else thinks you are a weirdo. Stuff like that.

    Kaiju show this weekend
    Hey all,

I'm wondering how you guys are getting to the Baltimore show this weekend. Anyone going in the early afternoon? (I have to bring the artwork with me so I have to get there before doors open.) If anyone would like to coordinate, let me know.

    Hey all.
    Just a reminder.
I will be having my next show next Friday.
We are less than a week away. I've grouped different artist
and *gasp* even music this time. We might even have a proof of Dead of Summer: Book One on hand for all to see too.

There will be free food and cool drink specials not to mention
Rampage 64 and Mario Kart 64 playing on the wall with Kaiju Big Battel as well. If you need to be amazed about life once again, this show will put you back in that space.

Hope to see you all there.

    Otakon's Blowing It.
Hi all. Some of you know me, some of you don't.

For those that don't, I'm Marty Day, writer of the webcomic Dead of Summer. We're based out of Baltimore, and have come to know a good few people in the webcomics world in DC.

In any case, something...not too great happened today, that I think effects a lot of us in the webcomics community.  Maybe I'm blowing it out of proportion, but I think given it's locality, it's worth discussing.

Otakon, as you might be aware, is one of the largest anime conventions in the US.  It, like so many other anime conventions, have given us webcomics creators a great platform to speak up, share our creations, and get people motivated via panels.

This year, however, we've been completely ignored.

I ramble on about it more in-depth in a blog post located here.

I think if we as a webcomics community make a stand, we can make them recognize us.  But I'm just one man, and I don't know how. Lets get motivated.

    Movie Friday?
Sorry I missed the meet-up. A nap turned into a full night's sleep. Anywho...

Want to see Day Watch on Friday night? E Street Cinemas. It's a vampire movie from Russia, but so much more. I reccomend checking out IMDB for info:

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0403358/

"Among normal humans live the "Others" possessing various supernatural powers. They are divided up into the forces of light and the forces of the dark, who signed a truce several centuries ago to end a devastating battle. Ever since, the forces of light govern the day while the night belongs to their dark opponents. In modern day Moscow the dark Others actually roam the night as vampires while a "Night Watch" of light forces, among them Anton, the movie's protagonist, try to control them and limit their outrage."

    Challenge for us.
Free Comic Book day is less then 2 monthes away, and I was wondering if we had a way to introduce people to our comics, where every day is free comic book day.

I was talking to Chris and Ross last night about this, and I wass wondering if anyone else has any thoughts.

With the advent of Ka-Blam, maybe if several of us chip in and go to differant comic shops with a free book. If three uf us do it and we go out to three different shops then we could raise awairness of eachother's comic.

    Talk amungst yourselves.

    New Bassetville Up and Running
    X (CROSS POST) X

Just a quick heads up for anyone who may be interested:
The site that was Bassetville.net has moved to it's new home at bassetville.bryanprindiville.com. I have also started a new one-panel cartoon feature called Bassets on the Brain with the help of my new colorist, Lee Cherolis. Any and all feedback on this new endevor would be greatly appreciated.

On a non-basset hound note, I have also started an editorial cartoon / sketch blog that could use some feedback as well.
