Hi

I'm really into Heath and Jake and BBM. There are other stuff but these are my main obsessions!And also all their other films..

I'd like any icons/wallpapers/banners etc. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to doing much with them but would like to see tutorials too. Just to see what I could do if I want to. Does that make sense?I don't know the difference with banners and headers (I thought they were the same thing). Oh, and I don't know what textures are either - pretty dumb,huh?

Yes i plan on doing more Heath, as well as Jake and BBM. I'm working on BBM graphics at the moment actually!

Banners are things you put on your profile page or a forum or something like that. And a header is most of the time a bit bigger, and you can use that on your main journal page at the top. The only difference really is the size. And textures are things you can use on your graphics like this and this.

And no your not dumb! LOL! I had no idea about all this stuff 6 months ago either! :)

I love all the stuff you do. You are really talented. And it's really encouraging that you say you had no idea about this stuff 6 months ago..Makes me feel like I *could* do it...

I have a question.. Hope you don't mind. I have a pic in black and white and want to make it colour. Can I do this? I've been looking for a pic of sun setting over the ocean and found this:

How could I add colour. I don't have any programs to help me. Could you help and let me know what I could do? I don't know if this pic would be too dark???

Firstly, sorry for not getting back to you straight away. Been so busy the last few days!

Anyway, thankyou so much for your nice words. And yes its definitely something you can learn to do. Once you know the basics, most of it is relatively easy, it just takes time though!

In regards to your question. One of the things I'm still learning how to do is add colour to a b/w image. It is possible, but it does depend on the image. The image you've provided is pretty dark, and since its a night time shot, there really isn't much colour involved in it. I had a play around with it and the only thing i could do with it was making it a bit more blue, click this.

You can see what I mean by this tutorial HERE.

And the program I use is Adobe Photoshop version 8. But it is very expensive. I was lucky enough that someone got it for me. There are a few other programs out there to use though. Paint Shop Pro is a great program, but still costs a bit. Then there are a couple of free programs. You could try Get Paint, or Gimp. I don't know a lot about these programs, but they are mentioned in this excellent icon/graphics post HERE, which is well worth checking out. If i was choosing one, I would probably go for Gimp. That seems like quite a good program, and very similar to what i use.

Thank you for giving me this advice. I'm going to use this icon if I may (I've credited you). I really want to do this so will try and learn more. I really just wanted to know if I could do it and how it would be possible.I didn't expect you to do so much!You explained very well so now I can (hopefully) experiment on my own..

You never know, I might know what I'm doing ...eventually...
